What happened in Turkish football today? 07/05/2019

Trabzonspor performance needs to be praised despite of some downs during this season.

Trabzonspor carries on providing right attitute with its performance towards last games of the season as it mainly aims now for 3rd spot at the table as it has secured 4th and Europa League spot after beating with Kayserispor with 4:2 scoreline.

Trabzonspor did start game in right manner and start showing pretty good attacking game which led them to find 2 early goals of the games with 2 great goals from its key players at the team, especially youth of the side, carry on providing very good game and showing what could be achieved if clubs do right investment towards its academy. One of the issues which could be stated during game however has been this reaction from 2:0 which led Kayserispor to find 2 goals and could lead to loss of points for Trabzonspor if it didnt show right response within 2 minutes after 2nd conceding goal. Even through Trabzonspor still has very small chance for league title, without doubt it would be aiming now for 3rd spot as it is 3 points behind Besiktas and possibly could get Europa League direct spot if Galatasaray wins Turkish Cup. Without doubt Trabzonspor main focus right now would be to win last 3 games especially against Besiktas after next week.

Trabzonspor did have its downs of course during this season but in overall it has shown very good performance especially taking account its internal issues it had from last season and build up to this season.

Besiktas are furious about Bulent Yildirim refereeing against Galatasaray.

Besiktas following Super League 31st week game against Galatasaray, carries on showing strong protest towards referee of the game Bulent Yildirim as it aims to send complaint to Central Referee Committee.

The issue of blaming towards referee of the game, regardless if right or not, after losing game carries on Turkey and as been stated at our blog beforehand several times this actions does backfire to themselves as it affects negatively to performance of whole team in upcoming games. It needs to be admitted that Bulent Yildirim did provide not very good performance and mainly his decisions has been given to Besiktas players, even through this throw-ins position does recieve some arguments as in our view it did touch Besiktas players. Besiktas more aims also to use this opportunity to provide strong criticism of general referees, as it considers to provide a suggestion to start having foreign referees at the game, which is known is most effective way to imply that Turkish referees are not providing good performance. Suggestion does provide some arguments but it is saddened to see that Besiktas is raising this issue after incident it had during game. In similar manner, Galatasaray surprisingly does give any comments about referee after winning.

Besiktas are furious with Bulent Yildirim, and arguably their can be, but their need to put that side a-side as their have very important 3 games which could decide they position at the end of the table.

Galatasaray has huge advantage for league title despite of being same points with Basaksehirspor.

With Galatasaray becoming leaders of the Super League prior to 3 weeks until end of the season with goal difference with Basaksehirspor and also playing against them after next week at home, main conversation is could their defend their title.

Statistically, Galatasaray has very good chances as during last 20 seasons whenever their entered to last 3 weeks as leaders their had also got cup and doesnt make mistakes of losing points. This is an important factor, taking account that Basaksehirspor is showing downside performance right now and even through has been expected from our blog, it still big surprise to lose 8 point advantage it had only 5-6 weeks ago. Galatasaray head coach Fatih Terim is professional is providing right motivation and focus towards players at this last touch as he had shown last season and previous ones which does put team with taking title once again even if points are same. In fact, there is huge expectation that Galatasaray would win both Rizespor and Basaksehirspor next 2 weeks and would enter to last week as champions and as coach he has shown he can achieve that.

Title race of course is still going on in heating way with more or less its being 2-team race with Besiktas having some chances behind them, and games during next 2 weeks could be deciders for this season for top place.
