What happened in Turkish football today? 14/12/2017

Fenerbahce are showing very dominating football after national team break.

Fenerbahce carries on providing its high level performance at all of the fields as it has gaining winning spirit and concentration at the team with coming to all of the games with a focus to dominate and control game. It has carried on this positive habit at the team following Adana Demirspor Turkish Cup 5th round 2nd leg with 4:1 scoreline.

With following result Fenerbahce has got its ticket to the last 16 with an overall aggregate scoreline of 10:1 with showing an upper hand in 2 legs even through Adana Demirspor did provide some positive football during 1st halves of both games but has lost concentration and stamina in 2 legs. Following previous national team break we are seeing very good Fenerbahce which enjoys playing football, keep looking for positions and probably most important has lost its stress which it had in its defence which showed some poor performance earlier this season. More importantly the players start showing performance which head coach Aykut Kocaman. Fenerbahce has come to the position that it does look like their will not only win last 2 games until mid-season of Super League against Karabukspor and Konyaspor but would do it in comfortable manner.

Without doubt we are seeing much better side compare to previous performance and this high motivation and knowing what to do would keep players highly motivated for upcoming games.

Akhisarspor head coach Okan Buruk statements about Igor Tudor has cost him 5-game ban.

One of the most talked conversations at the Turkish football during this week has been comments made by Akhisarspor head coach Okan Buruk towards Galatasaray head coach Igor Tudor calling him characterless and annoying.

The story has begun at the game between two sides on 9th December where Okan Buruk has stated that Igor Tudor was being too busy with him and as Buruk has shown strong reaction to this has been send off to the stands. Later, Akhisarspor head coach Okan Buruk has apologized for such statements and behaviour stating that it was led from angriness of the game and how it was developing but it didnt save him for recieving 5 game ban from Professional Football Disciplinary Committee.
Meanwhile, it needs to be reminded that Galatasaray did stay quiet about this issue matter which was heavily criticised by media, but later did state that noone can speak like that about Galatasaray head coach. Okan Buruk unfortunately has done similar actions of being send of to stands several times and even through he has strong potential to become good coach in future he should be able to control his nerves.

This actions without doubt does damage to fair play image to the sport and should be reduced and if needed should be given strong punishments for those actions by PFDK.

Big leagues are interested with Oguzhan Ozyakup and Cenk Tosun.

Besiktas two star players Oguzhan Ozyakup and Cenk Tosun carry on being to be most talked transfer news not only in Turkey but around Europe as their high number of clubs who are interested to transfer him in mid-season transfer window.

The main interest it looks to be for now seems to be among German, Spanish and English clubs as their are new names coming out each day at the Turkish media with news that Stuttgart are interested to transfer Cenk Tosun. In other hand, Hertha Berlin are interested to transfer Oguzhan Ozyakup and also Arsenal willing to offer Wilshire in return of Tosun to the club. And this are only rumours which came out only today. However, as been mentioned several times of this blog those clubs would need to provide very high offers especially taking account that Besiktas would be playing against Bayern Munich at Champions League last 16 stage and will not like to lose its two of the main players before that game.

Those two players has shown great performance at Champions League this season and hence are main reasons why their is such big interests towards them but it would be hard to purchase them.
