What happened in Turkish football today? 05/12/2022

Fenerbahce has extended contract with its player Enner Valencia for 1+1 years.

It is reported that Fenerbahce has made an extension deal with its player Enner Valencia for 1+1 years with 1.7 million euro salary which hasnt been changed from current contract.

Even through Ecuador didnt manage to get through World Cup 2022 group stage, Enner Valencia has been one of the most eye-gathering players who has managed to score 3 goals during 3 games group stage games. With such performance, there is expectation and has been some transfer offers but player according to rumours has declined those offers which led for Fenerbahce also to provide an extension. With both player and club have set an eye to have successful season both domestically and Europe this development is being present open and would reduce pressure from both parts regarding his future in the team.

Without doubt, Valencia has been among players with who side wanted to keep and hence making this deal would make all parties satisfied.

Besiktas showing serious interest to sign Caner Erkin

With Caner Erkin terminating contract unexpectedly on previous date, there are coming lots of transfer rumours with Galatasaray and Besiktas are reported to be showing arleady some activity.

In fact, there are reports that Besiktas head coach Senol Gunes has started having direct talks with him with an aim to convince him joining side as he did show some good performance with Senol Gunes. It needs to be mentioned that Caner Erkin is also coming into end of his footballing career in all respect, and hence it would not be expected for him to raise into top level even through he did show some good performance this season at Fatih Karagumruk which does raise questions why club has terminated contract with him. Even through, according to rumours, Besiktas is being closest to sign, Galatasaray is also being at the race and would see how Besiktas would act for sure.

It is expected for Caner Erkin to be dominated at sports media this week and we would follow all of the developments in this transfer issue race Caner Erkin.

Galatasaray has made deal with Yunus Akgun

According to reports, Galatasaray are close to make extension contract deal with its player Yunus Akgun for 12-13 million euro.

There are seems to be conflicting reports where some days comes out information that Yunus Akgun while in other cases that there is agreement regarding of extension of contract. It seems to be case that Galatasaray is willing for Akgun to stay in the team without raising  his transfer fee while player is feeling uncomfortable to be one of the players who gets paid least. With factor that he doesnt get much playing time also moves for Akgun willingness to leave club. Galatasaray does see potential with him especially with his strong performance at Adana Demirspor-loan previous season so it would need to find ways how to convince him.

With Galatasaray willing for Akgun to stay, it does look like ball is on side of player as he and his agent are likely looking for new clubs with conditions which would suit him.
