What happened in Turkish football today? 31/01/2020

Trabzonspor could use for not playing last week into advantage but it could lose momentum.

With Super League season is getting closer and closer towards end and also 8 clubs still being directly involved at the title race, each week does have crucial games but when those sides are playing against each other is getting even more exciting for sure. Without doubt this week main game would be between Trabzonspor and Fenerbahce.

Without doubt both sides would be playing for win as this win will not only put them above each other but also would carry on getting closer to Sivasspor without doubt. Looking at the Trabzonspor side, it needs to be noted that without doubt its been among questions if postponed game against Yeni Malatyaspor last week due of earthquake in region has been advantage to them or not. It is true that it has provided them chance to get prepared even more to the game but in same time with team showing good performance in 2020 did lead them to carry on their momentum. Another issue is that Nwakaeme would be going through its red card ban in this game rather last week which would could affect to team as he showed great form during this season. Whatever are issues it needs to be remembered that team is highly motivated and hence would provide strong game as it cant afford to lose.

Trabzonspor as been noted didnt play during last week and it would become clear if this been advantage or disadvantage to them at the end of the season.

Fenerbahce would need to show balanced strong game on field.

In other hand, Fenerbahce is also coming for game which it would be seeking to win to keep its 2nd place and keep 4 point advantage against Sivasspor assuming leaders win this week and keep its high motivation high for title race.

Fenerbahce as been remembered did provide very good performance against Basaksehirspor, during last week as been remembered, as it is been its direct opponent for title without allowing their opponents to provide any attacks during game. Without doubt, Fenerbahce would be aiming to repeat this performance but it would be playing this time in away game and will be surrounded with strong Trabzonspor which does provide high push for their fans. Therefore, it would be more logical for Istanbul side to provide much more tactical patient game but in same time provide brave attacking game where role of front would become more important. Defence would also need to be careful during game for sure as Trabzonspor does provide performance of scoring at each game during this week so it would be tough one for them but it needs to be noted that it would be coming with strong self-belief and confidence following 2:0 win last week.

Fenerbahce has gained momentum but it would be difficult test for them and therefore it would need to provide very good game to get 3 points against its direct opponents.

Sergen Yalcin would play his 1st game at Besiktas against Rizespor.

Besiktas head coach Sergen Yalcin would be coming for his 1st game at his new position against Rizespor which promises to be difficult game as Rizespor would be expected to show strong focussed game.

Besiktas without doubt did enter to new chapter with appointing Yalcin to position with high expectations that he would be able to get better performance as title does look to be difficult even through it still can be counted among contenders for now. It needs to be noted that their opponents Rizespor would be coming with good mood following good performance against leaders Sivasspor last week conceding goal on last minute. Key for their draw has been strong defence, which it would be aiming to repeat again in this game also. Therefore, it would be important for him to find some creative aspects to pass organised defence with some creative defence. Yalcin for most of his coaching career has focussed into providing strong defence now he would need to provide tactic to pass this kind of defence against Rizespor.

This would be crucial test for Yalcin and it is curious how he would be solving those issue at club which has high aims for sure.
