What happened in Turkish football today? 05/07/2018

VAR and extra substitute at extra time rule would be introduced during Super Cup game.

Turkish Football Federation has accepted revision of its guidelines allowing for an extra player to be substituted during extra-time with starting of Super Cup game between Galatasaray and Akhisarspor on 5th August.

As it would be known following rule has been introduced during World Cup 2018 and has arleady been practiced during quarter-final games and has recieved lots of positive reaction from anyone.
Taking account that UEFA has also added that aspect to rules, it would be reasanoble to see that TFF would do same. Therefore, Super Cup game would be pretty exciting as it would be 1st game with VAR system and also this rule even through it would only go into effect obviously if game would be left into extra time. This rule without doubt would provide lots of flexibility also towards head coaches and should be able to make games even more exciting without doubt and hence would recieve lots of support from clubs and should be able to raise quality of Super Cup and also Turkish Cup games without doubt.

Hence, new season would be starting with new beginnings and high expectations with important changes of rules which includes extra substitute during extra time and also VAR system.

Goztepe has transferred Omer Sismanoglu.

Goztepe has transferred Yeni Malatyaspor player Omer Sismanoglu which without doubt would be also be provided as new opportunity for player to show himself once again following poor performance during last season.

Yeni Malatyaspor without doubt has transferred Omer Sismanoglu with high expectations taking account of experience of player at the Super League during past seasons but he didnt manage to show himself to top performance and later in season hardly got much of playing time. Therefore, this could be good opportunity for Sismanoglu, who without doubt is quality player, to get into better performance level for next season with team which would be aiming very likely for European spot and remind himself to football fans as being strong and great player. Meanwhile, this also be good deal for Goztepe without doubt as it managed to get good player for next season at the reasonable low price who would also be able to move team forward for next season while Yeni Malatyaspor did manage to sell player who it would not use much during next season. Therefore, for now it does look like everyone wins with such a deal.

Here is important of course for Omer Sismanoglu to show his performance at high level for next season and not let Goztepe sorry to purchase him.

Flamengo has offered 7 million euro for Ryan Babel but has been declined from Besiktas.

Rumours of Flamengo having an interest of purchasing Besiktas player Ryan Babel is still taking place around Turkish media with an rumour that club has declined 7 million euro from Flamengo.

It is known that Besiktas does seem to be reluctant to sell Babel during this summer transfer window but if it would need to be sold, their would expect higher price than 7 million euro. It is known also that Babel feels happy and comfortable at Istanbul club and doesnt consider much to leave team during this summer transfer window which also led Besiktas to show reluctance to sell him for lower price. Meanwhile, Flamengo head coach did approve that he is high quality and did admit he would be great addiiton to the squad but didnt mention any direct comments about him joining club or not in near future. This story would be developing very likely to develop until end of summer transfer window as Flamengo are known to show interest for long time now towards Ryan Babel.

Would Besiktas make deal with Flamengo or not does look to be among main talking points during this summer in Turkish sports media.
