Galatasaray has qualified to semi-final with comfortable 2nd half game
Galatasaray has become last semi-finalists of the Turkish Cup as it has provided dominant game against Konyaspor and has got 6:3 aggregate scoreline and would now meet with Akhisarspor. However, Galatasaray did have some trouble from cup holders Konyaspor during 1st half especially taking account that it has conceded goal 1st during game.
The game as was case with most of the Turkish Cup could be explained with two halves as both sides has shown great game and 14th minute goal from Fofana for Konyaspor has made one step closer for cup holders to get to the semi-final stage. However, a goal 3 minutes later by Serdar Aziz has got tie into their own hand as both sides did their best to find an important next goal. The star of Galatasaray during this season Bafetembi Gomis goal during 52 minute has provided more motivation to its team and then goal on 88th minute has managed to end tie as it was risky as Konyaspor could make tie square once again. But Galatasaray has managed to show controllable game once again and has qualified to semi-final stage.
Konyaspor did try its best to get to the semi-final as it has found an early goal with Fofana during 13th minute and are been closer to get to the semi-final for at least 5 minutes as it aimed to defend its cup title however with coming out with rotation and also losing game since 2:1 scoreline has let team to lose all concentration.
Galatasaray has carried on to show top level performance at its home ground during this season and would now meet with Akhisarspor at semi-final which could become much tougher game than their would be expected even through this game doesnt look as exciting as another semi-final.
1st half game has provided calmness to Fenerbahce during 2nd half against Giresunspor
Fenerbahce managed to overpass Giresunspor during Turkish Cup quarter-final game with an overall aggregate scoreline of 4:2 and despite of scoreline their opponents has managed to show top level performance and brave football. After winning this game Fenerbahce would now be meeting with one of its main rivals Besiktas at semi-final.
Game without doubt in overall should be treated with two halves as an early goal by Giresunspor has provided pretty high level performance from a team which has managed to go furthest for lower league and has provided high level performance. It is clear that if Samed Karakoc didnt find an early reply within 5 minutes than Fenerbahce would have pretty tough time at the game. As their found 2nd goal during its home game, 2nd half their had come out with 4:2 advantage and even through 2 goals from Giresunspor could mean semi-final it is quite natural that team has lost confidence and motivation to show this comeback which has led game to be played at much slower tempo as 15 minutes at break has made both sides to go over game and judge situation.
Fenerbahce has now gained motivation for very important game against Basaksehirspor which would be very important for them as their have chance to reduce point difference with leaders, which is currently 5 points.
Akhisarspor are more focussed to Turkish Cup from now on.
Akhisarspor has reached to the semi-final stage of the Turkish Cup with beating Kayserispor with an aggregate scoreline of 3:2 at the tie which was expected to be intense with both sides.
Compare to 1st leg both sides has shown much more attacking game which without doubt has been motivated from only 1:0 scoreline from Akhisarspor. As been stated at the blog yesterday Akhisarspor has been motivated much more highly to the game compare to their opponents as their had lost any chance for European spot as their having much poor performance at the Super League compare to Kayserispor. The main hero for a team to get to the semi-final without doubt is being Ataseven who have scored at both games and playing direct role for semi-final ticket. It would be reasonably from now on to expect to team to give much more concenctration to the Turkish Cup as it would meet with tougher opponent at semi-final stage.
Considering how Akhisarspor has performed during those 2 leg games, Akhisarspor has been closer to semi-final but Kayserispor did provide pretty pressure towards them during game.
