What happened in Turkish football today? 14/09/2023

Sacking national team coaches hasnt been solution and will not be now.

There has been pretty active talks at the Turkish National Team front about sacking its head coach Stefan Kuntz due of recent poor results but as history shows that doesnt seem an issue and it does have more deeper issues.

Sadly and especially at Turkish sports media we are seeing same rotational issue at its coverage which is calling to sack head coach when poor results are coming, praising new coach when he is being appointed, looking positive with good results coming and when bad do come calling for him to be sacking. There are even cases that coach which been called to be sacked immediately would be called in just few months referring to him as best candidate for job. If we see similar things happening at national team whoever coach is does raise that maybe an issue is somewhere else and it is. Turkey does need to work into improving its football faciliites and found ways how to make sure Turkish players get lots of playing time as many join national side unprepared.

Most easiest thing to do when bad results come is to sack head coach but history does show that this is not solution even at short-term period.

Gokhan Inler would start sports director role at Besiktas this season despite being referred as player.

Besiktas has appointed Gokhan Inler as club's sports director but it does have an interesting contract as he would be seen as a player for first season.

It has been announced as that he would be player at the team during this season and afterwards would starts sports director role but it needs to be mentioned that in fact he would be sports director in this season too but would not be given too much time and it would be more or less for him to get used and learn about such position as it is not also expected for him to get much playing time on field.

Therefore, Gokhan Inler would be seen as in role of player this role but actually would be going through to some extend work placement for sports director.

Fatih Karagumruk signs Nazim Sangare for 1-year

Fatih Karagumruk has signed Nazim Sangare for 1-season after player has ended contract with Fenerbahce as Istanbul giant doesnt have much plans for player in upcoming season and it would been good for him.

It needs to be mentioned that Nazim Sangare did show to be a good player with lots of good defensive game but it needs to be aware that he is not in level of Fenerbahce in this season and it would been better for him to join mediocre side in the league where he would be able to get some playing time and play an important role for success of this club. Fatih Karagumruk which is being side with high aims would be seen hence a good option for him.

Hence, this transfer has been a good development for all parties as Fatih Karagumruk did sign player which would strength they defence in upcoming season.
