Galatasaray has signed Mauro Icardi for 3-years

In the long awaiting of Galatasaray supporters, club has announced officially transfer of PSG player Mauro Icardi who has been loaned to team as team signed him for 3-years with 10 million euro transfer fee.

With long-term negotiation with PSG and also some family issues of Icardi himself, it take time to make deal but Galatasaray did run pretty successful transfer negotiations with PSG and has made deal for 10 million euro which would be paid in duration of 4 seasons as club has recieved lots from its sponsors as some section of the money would going to Icardi salary which consists of 6 million euro per season.With such long-term negotiations, Icardi would now need to focus without doubt at continuing showing such strong performance in upcoming season.

Eventually Galatasaray did sign Icardi during long-term negotiations and would now become leading player for sure.

Besiktas makes deal with Ante Rebic.

AC Milan player Ante Rebic has arrived to Istanbul for one-on-one transfer negotiations with Besiktas as deal between parties has been made during of long-term transfer negotiations but Rebic willingness to join team did play an important role.

Mauro Icardi has made transfer move to Galatasaray.

High number of Galatasaray supporters has gathered at late evening in Istanbul Airport to greet Mario Icardi who has joined the team after loan period with reported transfer fee of 10 million euro and salary.

Without doubt performance of Mauro Icardi during previous season at Galatasaray has made him not only one of the leading players of previous season in the team but also whole Super League taking lion share of title in previous season. With all parties wanting to make this deal to happen including Icardi and his agent and wife Wanda Nara has played an important role for this taking place. As long as Mauro Icardi would provide similar performance on field during next season, Galatasaray would be one of the leading contenders for title next season.

Hence, this has been an important deal between both parties as Mauro Icardi would aim to carry on making club supporters active during next season.

Istanbulspor has terminated contract with its player Gindrit Guri.

Istanbulspor has terminated contract with its player Sindrit Guri as both parties dont have plans for upcoming plans between each other for next season and player would be willing to look for new team.

It needs to be mentioned that Sindrit Guri didnt recieve much playing time during previous season and hence would not likely be recieving much of the offers from Super League sides and would be looking at the team and league where he would be enjoying more playing time. Goztepe has loaned Alanyaspor young player Umit Akdag who would recieve opportunity to get some playing time at lower league and if Alanyaspor would like to return to Alanya in much better form.

Besiktas got advantage over KF Tirana.

Besiktas did get as expected an advantegous scoreline against KF Tirana at Conference League as it did show game with full control of the game but did have possible downside of showing too much relaxation after 2:0 which did lead them to concede 1 goal but did get once again advantage of 2 goals.

Even through club did experience downside of not being entirely ready for competitive game both due of 1st games of the season and also of the hot summer evening, it did have an advantage of playing relatively weaker side and this has led for side to get good game without much issues at the front in the attacking game and hence did get an important win thanks to the opponent. It needs to be mentioned that KF Tirana did provide its best performance and it did seek to at least fight for good result which did lead them to find that single goal.

Task of getting through to 3rd qualifying round is not done, but as long as they stay calm and focussed task should be done in Tirana next week.

Adana Demirspor show good game in its European debut.

Adana Demirspor as been noted several times did play with most difficult opponent in this stage among Turkish clubs mainly due of CFR Cluj from opponent did have some good experience in Europe but Adana Demirspor has shown good game.

Besiktas did get confident win against KF Tirana

Besiktas did come out to the Conference League 2nd qualifying round 1st leg with a win at home ground with 3:1 scoreline and did get an advantage for 3rd qualifying round as it did control game for 90 minutes with help of its supporters.

Besiktas did show controllable game since start of the game and has been getting closer to the goal for 90 minutes but still didnt possibly as much pressure towards Tirana goal as been expected and there were signs that some players were not ready to compete at higher level which could be described for converting on 3 goals when looking into level of the opponent and also has conceded 1 goal and also letting them to get some chances. Still, Besiktas has been side which did provide pressure towards Tirana and has led them to get higher number of the chances with using some mistakes of defence at the opponent side and hence opponent didnt provide much strong response.

It needs to be mentioned that KF Tirana did come out with aiming to show its best performance and to some extend it has managed to do so but did look slow at defence and this could be an area where it could be working on during 2nd game.

Hence, Besiktas did get an advantage and did show some good performance but could be showing even better game to improve its performance for 2nd leg but still did provide some positive view.

Adana Demirspor got good result at away game in Romania

Adana Demirspor as been noted on our blog entries since draw has been made has got most difficult opponent at Conference League but did get very good outline at away game with 1:1 goal as Stambouli goal on 2nd half did led side to keep it chances for title alive.

Adana Demirspor did come out to the game as underdogs due of inexperience at European competitions but it does have lots of players at its disposal which did play at European tournament on previous cups and has shown game closer to this system and they tried to show that during 1st game of Patrick Kluivert being appoint to the opposition. One of the weak parts from them during game has been for conceding goal too early and did provide some worry but side has managed to show strong reaction and not being too much affected as it improved as game progressed and did find an important goal with Stambouli which could cost them to get into advantage for 2nd leg.

CFR Cluj it needs to be mentioned that start game at high note with finding goal as early as 6th minute and did manage to provide pressure as game progressed but it did lose control of the game and later upper hand of the tie.

Adana Demirspor did show for sure strong performance and confident performance which ended up for them as good away result in the end of the day.

Fenerbahce got confident and easy win against Zimbru

Fenerbahce has got an important and confident win against Moldavian side Zimbru with 5:0 scoreline as it has dominated game for 90 minutes as two early goals from Ferdi Kadioglu and Ryan Kent has led side to get confident win.

What was specifically important and pleasant to see from Fenerbahce supporters is great start of the newcomers as Ryan Kent, Tadic, Edin Dzeko and Szechesny has shown strong and confident performance during 90 minutes. It needs to be mentioned that taking account level of Zimbru, to all of their respect, this game should not be a great reference point as Fenerbahce player did state themselves that there is lots of places where it needs to improve but its been important morally to start this game in such manner and dominate game for 90 minutes.

Fenerbahce got confident win against Zimbru

Fenerbahce has got a confident win against Moldavian side with 5:0 scoreline as side has dominated game for 90 minutes while opponent didnt provide much pressure and what has been specifically present for them is that all goals came from different players.

Fenerbahce did come out as strong favourites to the game and it has send that message from 1st minutes of the game and did find goals within first 14 minutes of the game as Ferdi Kadioglu and Ryan Kent did find 2 great goals and has got full control of the game and apart of some few and not very dangerous chances has controlled ball and been around of Zimbru goal. What was important during game that it did look to be highly concentrated towards game and hence did show good control of the game and has controlled of the game. Even through this game could not be reference for rest of the season, it did show some serious number of advantages as it did show good tempo of the game at very hot weather in Istanbul and did come with only thing on mind to win game.

When looking at whole game, it could be confidently stated, as was expected that there is very big difference between sides Zimbru was very far away from their level and it did try to show some resistance during 1st minutes but as it conceded goal on early minutes.

Hence, Fenerbahce got very confident with showing full dominance and now would be coming out for 2nd leg fully due of formality and might possible give chances to some unexpected names. 

Defence has been particularly poor against Zalgiris.

Galatasaray did get dissapointing result against Zalgiris during Champions League 2nd qualifying round with conceding at last minute of the game which prevented to get an upper hand for 2nd leg.

It needs to be mentioned that one of the main reasons for such unexpected result from Lithuanian champions has been due of poor performance of defenders which didnt seem to be highly concentrated and made pretty simple mistakes with Zalgiris using this chances effectively and founding two goals. Without doubt synthetic field at the Zalgiris stadium did provide some difficulties to the side but still it would needed to show much more better performance. Still, with Galatasaray playing at home ground at next week does make favourites to get through next stage.

Besiktas will aim to get confident outcome against KF Tirana

Galatasaray did get unexpected draw against Zalgiris

Galatasaray has started both its Champions League campaign and also 2023-24 football season with an away draw game against Lithuanian side Zalgiris with 2:2 scoreline with all goals coming during 2nd half.

It needs to be mentioned that synthetical field at LFF stadium did have its impact to performance as Zalgiris did feel to be more comfortable and hence this led for side to control game and create some chances during 1st half. Without doubt, this result would be seen as dissapointing for Galatasaray but 2 goals coming between 75-78th minute has provided side to look forward for 2nd leg at home where it would be coming out as clear favourite.

Fenerbahce will start its Conference League campaign

Fenerbahce would be starting its 2023-24 season at Conference League with 2nd qualifying round 1st leg game against Moldavian side Zimbru as it would be coming out as favourite and would just need to focus to provide strong performance.

With having high number of transfers during this summer transfer window, Fenerbahce has set an important message to everyone that it has high aims for this upcoming season and it would be starting such period with a game against Zimbru at the game where it would be coming out as strong favourites. Galatasaray would be expected to get to next stage

Galatasaray are going to be first Turkish club to be starting 2023-24 season as it would be meeting with Lithuanian champions Zalgiris at Champions League 2nd qualifying round at the game where it would be expected to be clear favourite.

It needs to be mentioned that only issue which Galatasaray could be having during game is not taking opponent very seriously which number of Turkish clubs had an issue in previous seasons as team does have some serious issues at motivation for the game when kick-off is taking place. Apart of that it needs to be stated that Galatasaray would be coming as clear favourites with quality players which it has on its hands and needs to be dominating on the field and show that it is better side on the field.

Following so far pretty problematic summer transfer window, Besiktas has managed to transfer Jean Onana for 4-years and has strenghened its defensive line for upcoming season.

With having some problematic issues at transfer front Besiktas has eventually has managed to get a transfer of Jean Onana with who it has been working on for some time right now as it signed player for 4-years for 4,037,400 euro and it could be seen as an important addition as it would be providing pretty strong and organised defensive game if he does provide performance which has been awaiting from me. 4 teams would be relegated in upcoming season.

TFF has announced that 4 teams would be relegated in the end of the upcoming season as it focusses to reduce teams at the Super League to 18 teams as 3 teams would be promoted from lower division league.

TFF has been aiming to reduce number of the teams to 18 in the end of the season but due of devastating earthquake in Hatay and Gaziantep it has been decided to keep teams from both cities into league as they didnt complete season and hence this has led for 20 teams to be staying in the top division. With league to be played once again with 20 leagues this decision to reduce number of teams has been moved as there has been long term conversation at Turkish football community that playing with 20 teams would only do harm to level of league as differences between clubs are being big.

With such decision it could also provide some more exciting fight of survival as more teams would fight to stay in league.

8+3 foreign players limit will be taking place in next season

TFF has also stated that early announced 8+3 foreign player limit would be staying at place as it made an official statement.

Even through lots of clubs with different reasons do state that foreign player limit should be free, this blog has been stated that it should be introduced as there is prevention with free foreign player limit to work with developments of Turkish players especially young ones and hence prevent new Arda Guler's who did come when this system has been in place. Stating that, clubs would need to focus on development of its academies as if it doesnt do that this players limit will be useless for sure.

TFF hence did state that 8+3 foreign players limit would need to stay at the place despite of lots of conversation and viewpoints given from clubs in this matter.

Istanbul aims to host Conference League or Europa League on 2016 or 2017

Fenerbahce, Galatasaray and Besiktas have send seperate request towards UEFA to host either Europa League or Conference League final games rather on 2016 and 2017.

With Istanbul without doubt being able to host pretty successful Champions League tournament this May and also having other history of hosting UEFA competitions, it has set an eye for another final this time at Conference League and Europa League. With providing bid for 2 season at two different competitions and 3 cities meanwhile has raised its possibilities, as UEFA does state that bid in future would need to change to one stadium. Istanbul did prove several times its capacity to host this tournament and chances could be seen as pretty high.

UEFA has accepted those bids and would now consider them as there some other candidade bids given to UEFA.

Trabzonspor has terminated contract with Dorukhan Tokoz.

Trabzonspor has terminated contract with its player Dorukhan Tokoz in mutual agreement after next day when player has informed coach that he would be liking to leave team this summer.

It was reported that Nenad Bjelica didnt plan to use Dorukhan Tokoz much during upcoming season as he believed that his form and also tactical game wasnt suitable for kind of game which has been played which led for Tokoz to consider to leave in such manner. It is reported that player has arrived to Istanbul to have negotiations with some clubs in the city as there are reports that Basaksehirspor and Besiktas are showing interest to the player. Wydad has transferred Mohtasser Lahtimi.

Wydad has signed Trabzonspor player Mohtasser Lahtimi as Arabic club has been showing strong interests towards player since start of the summer meanwhile Trabzonspor will not be planning to use player much in upcoming season.

Sivasspor signs Abdulkerim Bardakci.

Sivasspor has made another significant transfer as it has signed Abdulkerim Bardakci who has left recently Trabzonspor and hence signed player who has high experience at competing at high level.

Sivasspor as it is remembered did have mixture performance as it did show some good performance in Europe and Turkish Cup but not same could be stated to the Super League which has been due of old age of the team and limited amount of players. Trabzonspor has recieved 2 million euro ban for not following FFP guidelines.

UEFA has announced its fines regarding of FFP regulations for previous 3 seasons with Trabzonspor being mostly affected among Turkish clubs as it recieved 2 million euro fine.

As it is known, Trabzonspor is going through difficult financial periods due of high financial spending of previous season and which administration aims to solve at short notice, with this taking into account it was quite natural to expect that club would be most highly affected. Among getting 2 million euro fine, with 1.7 million euro to be paid later, Trabzonspor has also signed agreement according to which club would go through fines and bans from UEFA competitions if it doesnt manage to solve its finances in next season which could lead to 1-year ban from competitions. Even through it does look like Trabzonspor could have some difficulties and solving this issues, current administration does have road map.

Trabzonspor hence needs to be careful with its finances in close period of time but good development is that club is aware of this.

Besiktas has ended season without breaking FFP regulations.

TFF has announced that draw for Super League 2023-24 season would be taking place on 18th July after 1 week delay due of unannounced reasons as 20-teams would be fighting for league title. 

With TFF announcing that name sponsorship of Super League would be Trendyol, on next day federation has announced that draw would be taking on 18th July for the league which would be starting on 11th August. It would be another long season as there would be 20 teams as earthquake affected clubs Hatayspor and Gaziantep rightfully has not been relegated in the end of the season. It would be expected to be exciting season as many clubs are making exciting transfers.

With following announcement it could be also noted that excitement for new season would be slowly starting among supporters.

TFF has signed sponsorship deal with leading Turkish online shopping platform Trendyol as during next season Super League would be referred as Trendyol Super League as sponsorship deal is reported to be working on partnership manner.

As it was stated beforehand, Trendyol has made an important step of becoming sponsors of earthquake affected team Hatayspor with whose help there is possibility that team during summer transfer window is building up.
