Turkish National Team will aim to carry on positive game against Latvia.

Turkish National Team would be coming out to the Euro 2024 qualifying against Latvia where it can secure its spot for proper tournament where it would be taking place if it manages to get win their opponents.

Turkish National Team has opened new chapter in its history with Vincenzo Montella and it needs to be mentioned that this has been very successful as it got pretty confident win with minumum scoreline of 1:0 and now it would be important to carry on such top performance. Unfortuntately, Turkish National Team does have a habit of providing a strong performance against top nations but does lose concentration against weaker opponents and historically and surprisingly Latvia tends to be very problematic side for them. However, among getting good result with strong performance against Croatia with Vincenzo Montella, it has also shown that team has been very concentrated and motivated at the game against Croatia and if it manages to carry on such performance it should be able to get result which it seeks for. Latvia on their part would be coming to game with strong confidence and motivation against Turkey due of win against Armenia in previous week and good performance against Turkey in general.

Turkey did show positive performance against Croatia with Montella as new coach but now it would be seeking to carry on such performance.

Ismail Kartal has been punished from UEFA for starting game later than kick-off time.

Fenerbahce head coach Ismail Kartal has recieved 1-game ban and 25,000 euro fine which has been postponed for upcoming season due of game starting late during Conference League play-off round game against Twente.

As it is known, Turkish Super League tends to be starting delay due of relaxing attitude of federation and referees to kick-off time but this is being much more stricter at European games and hence it has punished from UEFA. This decision might be seen too strict but to some extend this has also been an important message towards Turkish regulators of game as one of the reasons for such strict are complaints from broadcasters and generally from supporters in some occassions. Fenerbahce and also other clubs at Europe would hence now on would need to be careful with kick-off times focussing for it to start at right time.

This could be seen as pretty unusual decision to give ban but as been noted UEFA does pay specific attention to kick-off times at its competitions.

Hakim Ziyech will not be able to play for 1-week due of injury.

Galatasaray player Hakim Ziyech would not be able to play for 1 week due of injury which means he would be missing two important games of the team as one at Super League against Besiktas derby game and another one against Bayern Munich at Champions League.

As it is known, Ziyech has been send to Moroccan National Team in injury condition hoping from their side that he would be able to come out and play but it became known that injury has been more serious than expected and has been send back to Istanbul for recovery. It is reported for injury not to be too serious and expected to be fully recovered within 1 week period as long there is no  negative developments.

Hence, Hakim Ziyech would recover in short period of time but timing of this has been one of the most crucial weeks for Galatasaray.

Turkey showed strong attitude against Croatia.

Turkish National Team has got crucial win against group favourites Croatia in Osijek with 1:0 scoreline win thanks to the goal from Baris Alper Yilmaz on 30th minute and has made very important step for getting Euro 2032 spot.

It is important here to state that it is unlikely that there has been specific tactical and physical impact towards player prior to this game and hence this win did come purely from emotionality as could be seen both with how team performed and also reactions to positions including penalty decision on 88th minute both before and after VAR decision. It needs to be mentioned that Dominik Livakovic who is reportedly being criticised in Croatia due of conceding simple goal actually has been main reason  why game ended with 1:0 scoreline as Turkey did have high number of the chances and dominating game. It also needs to be mentioned that Croatia didnt show its best game but this no doubt needs to be reduced effort and performance of Turkey during 90 minutes.

Meanwhile, this blog would also give an unpopular point that even through Turkey did improve with its performance after Stefan Kuntz, his effort should not be reduced as even if we talk about possibility of Turkey ending at top spot is being played huge role by Kuntz for sure.

UEFA has announced provisional list of stadiums for Euro 2032.

UEFA has announced list of stadiums both from Italy and Turkey for Euro 2032 as 10 stadiums has been presented by each country and within 3-years number of stadiums would be reduced to 5 by each country.

It has been noticed that even through Turkey has been stating that  it has solved stadium issue and has high level stadiums at almost each city, it has been noticed that 3 stadiums has been selected from Istanbul while from Italy side each stadium has been in different cities. Stating that it could be understood as historically football has been developed across Italy while in Turkey, as case with many things, it was centered in Istanbul and also even through all stadiums are top level, Istanbul stadiums are being more compatible and naturally has higher capacity.

It also needs to be reminded that with reduction of stadiums to 5 it could easily be expected that Istanbul would host only 1 stadium, likely Ataturk Olympic Stadium.

Basaksehirspor extends contract with team until 2027

Basaksehirspor has extended contract with its 18-year old  player Efe Arda Koyuncu until 2027 hence showing strong trust towards player and seeing high potential of the player in the team.

Arda Koyuncu, mainly due of Super League clubs not trusting young players, didnt recieve lots of playing time during this season but it needs to be stated that club does believe that he could develop into good player and hence has extended contract with him until 2027 as it is going to build strong side. It also important for such team to focus into younger player as it actually being good place for them even through their didnt invest much previously buying mainly old and experienced players.

It would be expected for Arda Koyuncu to get some playing time at the Turkish Cup when team would start its journey there.

Vincenzo Montella had an important impact towards Turkey which had possitive impact in Croatia game

Turkish National Team head coach Vincenzo Montella starts his journey with his new post with beating Croatia in Osijek thanks to the Baris Alper and probably most important has shown strong and confident performance.

Even through Vincenzo Montella appointment to national team has been seen as good development and that it would be expected to provide better game, it was expected by even most optimistic supporters that Turkey would get maximum draw. However, Turkey has shown much better performance which has been expected from them with not winning game but also has provided a strong attacking and defensive game not allowing for Croatia for most amount of the game to get control game and showing an attacking game. It has been seen from start of the game that Turkey didnt only aim to win game but also showing an attacking positive game as goal could be coming as early as on 2nd minute it has almost found an opening goal. In fact, it needs to be stated that Turkey could have scored even more but an outstanding performance of Dominik Livakovic but did found a winning goal from Baris Alper and most important team has been focussed into gameand has shown controllable and organising game.

Croatia did have some absences in attack and also didnt provide its best performance and has been pretty far from games it has shown during World Cup 2022 but despite of that it needs to be stated that Turkey has also prevented Croatia to get used.

Without doubt Vincenzo Montella did have an important iimpact towards team as Turkey has shown confident and attacking game without showing any signs of being scared from Croatia.

Trabzonspor has appointed Abdullah Avci once again.

Trabzonspor once again appointed  Abdullah Avci to head coach position after unsuccessful period it had went through with Nenad Bjelica as Avci would likely aiming to bring strong defensive side into field but once again aiming to show strong attacking game.

Abdullah Avci as would been remembered had left team following resignation of previous CEO Ahmet Agaoglu as he wanted to open door for new CEO and as team did seek for new coach it did make fast agreement with Nenad Bjelica. An issue for Bjelica has not been his quality as coach, as he is good coach, but not being able to get adapted both to the team and to the league which let for unstable performance. With Trabzonspor chances for title are being low, despite of it being early part of the season, Avci would be focussing to be creating side which would be showing strong and positive performance on the field with organising game and he would have more than week to achieve that during this national team break.

Avci is returning to the team where he brought historical title and he would be aiming to repeat that outcome once again.

Besiktas added Yukac and Modric to technical staff

Besiktas has announced that it has appointed Hari Yukac as club's assistant coach and Toni Modric at athletic trainer as it did provide some more strength towards Besiktas caretaker coach Burak Yilmaz and filled places which were left after Senol Gunes resignation.

Hari Yukac has been working with Igor Tudor during his stay at Galatasaray and  hence is being familiar with Turkish football and also adapted to the league and hence this addition would not have much issues for adapting to expectation towards league generally and Besiktas and would allow Burak Yilmaz he would be coaching team at least for 2 months to be assisting team towards successful performance.

Time would show if this measures would have positive impact towards team unstable and mainly poor performance this season.

Turkey would be coming out to Croatia with optimism of new coach and beginning.

Turkish National Team are going to resume its Euro 2024 qualifying campaign with very important game against Croatia as both sides are being in top of the standings with 10 points with Croatia having game in hand.

It needs to be stated that even through Turkey did lose a crucial 2 points against Armenia on previous game, it still has got good advantage to get to the Euro 2024 and hence 1 point against Croatia will not be seen bad result as long as it doesnt lose crucial points in upcoming games. Without doubt, appointment of Vincenzo Montella could provide positive impact into team for this game as it would be aiming to provide much more attacking game and also willingness but it needs to be aware that it is playing against Croatia and hence aim to balance its game with attack and defence and possibly even focus more into defence as Croatia does have quality attacking players. Therefore, to some extend Turkey would need to show brave football but be aware of its capacity and hence provide good defensive game.

Turkey as been noted would be coming out with high confidence and motivation and this likely cklllllllllmn kkkjould have a positive impact on performance even through result of the game might not be as simple.

Victor Nelsson is unhappy for not being selected at starting 11.

Galatasaray player Victor Nelsson has stated during interview with Danish media that he is being unhappy and angry for not starting at starting 11 during last 3 games especially during game against Manchester United.

It has been known that start from summer transfer window this summer Nelsson wanted to leave club but Galatasaray didnt consider to sell him and now has offered him an extension contract to which he didnt consider to sign. It is rumoured that Galatasaray decision not to play could be related to this as this thought however raises him willingness to leave team even more. It is true that he has been at decline of performance compare to previous season, but he is being a good defender and for sure could alternative and option in the team squad so not playing him would only let him lose even more and might turn negatively when he would be needed in the field.

This developments hence does raise question regarding future player at the club and there are high chances he would leave during mid-season transfer window.

Sebastian Szymanski doesnt consider to leave team soon

Fenerbahce player Sebastian Szymanski agent Mariusz Piekarski has stated that there are no plans for player to leave team in short period and states that he aim is to compete with team at Champions League.

Sebastian Szymanski is clearly feels comfortably both in Turkey and his club which could be seen both from stance and performance of the team as he has become one of the leading players for winning run team is going through. As it tends to be, transfer rumours are being going around at media when player is showing good performance but it doesnt look like, and been confirmed from his agent, that Szymanski is considering to leave team not only in mid-season break but also next summer transfer window.

Szymanski is happy at Fenerbahce and does look like he would be playing at team for at least 2 seasons and playing an important role in the team.

Turkey and Italy will host Euro 2032.

Turkish and Italian joined bid for Euro 2032 has won rights to host competition as it did run into election as single candidate and would be now focussing both nation to bring great tournament as Turkey has won its 1st tournament after 5 ties.

Our blog did state several times that this joined bid would go into hand for Turkey as Italy does have long-term experience at hosting great tournaments at its own country with World Cup 1990 in Italy is being seen as one of the best tournaments in history of competitions. It needs to be mentioned however that Turkey does have some advantages in sense of tourism, construction of good stadiums which has been among policy of current government and also strong football fanbase. Even through when looking into results it would be difficult to state that it has lots of successes in sense of continuous but it does have strong fanbase and hence could be referred as football nation. Therefore, this winning bid would lead for both sides to show good competition with each side taking strong sides from each other.

This is being historical decision and now Turkey would need to focus to provide strong competition after 9 years with Italy without doubt.

Samsunspor has recieved 2 period transfer ban from FIFA.

Samsunspor has recieved 2 period transfer ban from FIFA for ending contract in fouling manner with its Ardyvas Novikovas with Samsunspor moving to CAS with one of the defence being that it has made deal with Novikas.

It needs to be stated that this development has been pretty surprising as there were not much infortmation about club having with Novikas at Turkish sports media but player did go to FIFA with opening case and FIFA has taken side of the player with providing 2 period transfer ban. Samsunspor would now study this issue and would go to CAS as it has appointed FIFA advocate.

This has been pretty unexpected development and our blog as always would follow latest developments in this matter.

Trabzonspor will pay 1,600,000 salary to Nenad Bjelica

Trabzonspor is reported to be making deal with Nenad Bjelica terminating contract as club would be playing rest of salary for this season of 1,600,000 euro with 2 installments.

It has been reported that an issue with both club and head coach were going through during terminating process has been his compensation and Trabzonspor has made an agreement with Nenad Bjelica regarding paying him 1,600,000 euro salary. With such development it is expected for club to appoint Abdullah Avci within 2 days as adminsitration and Abdullah Avci are reported to make deal with both sides.

It is expected for Bjelica to be sacked officially in short period of time and also appointment of Abdullah Avci return as head coach to team.

Fenerbahce continues its 100% winning run without problems.

Fenerbahce continues showing a winning run as it has raised to 16 out of 16 with beating this time Kasimpasa with 2:0 scoreline and compare to previous league games it didnt necesarily provide fast tempo game but it has been enough.

To all respect to Kasimpasa, usually it doesnt manage to provide strong resistance to Istanbul giants and this has been case more or less against Fenerbahce as it didnt provide strong attacking game and only positive factor for them has been an organised in most parts. Meanwhile, Fenerbahce has once again has scored an early goal this time coming from Edin Dzeko on 3rd minute which quite naturally did make the game easier and allowed them to control and keep path as it wished to do so. Even through as been noted that it didnt provide  dominant game, it still look highly organised with playing knowing what to do on the field and hence did look during whole game that it would win.

Hence, Fenerbahce did enter to national team break with 100% and it is aiming to carry on performing in similar manner when league would be resumed within 15 days for sure.

Besiktas did get a win during such difficult moments for them.

To all respect to Istanbulspor, it should be noted that Besiktas been lucky to play one of the weakest links in this league as it met with them at most critical moment at the team and Burak Yilmaz did show signs of being good coach.

It needs to be stated that team didnt prepare much with Burak Yilmaz as been stated by himself and has played into emotions and even through it is hard to state that team did provide performance which would be desirable it did come out to game with being aware that firstly they need to get result as apology for events against Lugano and also not to get far from Fenerbahce and Galatasaray even more. Hence, it is not easy to play such games whoever opponent is and even if Istanbulspor due of lacking good attackers didnt provide much danger to them, it was still important to get such win for confidence. There are also rumours that Besiktas might consider to keep Burak Yilmaz at least until CEO election.

Besiktas hence did get an important for them and now would be focussing for some internal factors during this national team break.

Turkey and Italy certainly would get Euro 2032 hosting rights.

If there would not be any unexpected developments, there is high expectation that Turkey and Italy joined bid for hosting Euro 2032 would be won by them as there are only candidates as bid from Russia is not being discussed due of invasion of that country to Ukraine.

When announcement of joined bid has become announced our blog did state that it would be big advantage for Turkey as Italy is being well-known football nation and could even won this bid alone. Hence, this joined bid would make Turkey chances more higher as it does have all reasons to host it but did lack some factors to convince. Turkey has been bidding for Euro, World Cup and Olympics for long time without winning any rights and it does look this would be over when candidate city would be announced on 10th October.

Again Turkey and Italy are being only candidates and some strange developments should happen for them not to win it.

Schedule:

Turkish Cup, 2nd round:

14:00 Kirklarelispor - Corluspor

14:00 Kirsehir - Sirnak

What happened in Turkish football today? 08/10/2023

Fenerbahce continues showing dominant game with beating Kasimpasa this time.

Fenerbahce continues its winning run at the Super League rising it to 8 games at the league and 17 games in general as it has beaten an away game against Kasimpasa as it showed confident performance at the game where it did come as favourite.

Without doubt an early goal which did come from Edin Dzeko who continues taking a leading role of the team did make things much ore easier in the game and following goal Fenerbahce did provide strong and confident performance on the field and even through it did reduce tempo in some of the moments it didnt let Kasimpasa to create chances. One of the crucial factors at Fenerbahce during this season has been to stay focussed both in defensive and attacking game as it didnt also allow many opportunities and this has been case in this game as Kasimpasa did have an issues to get into attacking game.Hence, Fenerbahce with this advantage didnt also let them to dominate game but also to control game as it wishes to.

Kasimpasa who did come out as underdogs did try to provide some resistant performance and has managed to do so to some extend as it didnt let Fenerbahce to get high number of the chances compare to previous game but quality factor still been clear.

Fenerbahce hence enters national team break with 100% winning rate and has managed to do that as confident side and performance.

Besiktas got an important win in difficult period.

Besiktas has managed to get very important win against struggling Istanbulspor with 2:0 scoreline despite of fact that team is going right now due of very difficult conditions but has shown an important emotional reaction.

With dramatic loss to Lugano at Conference League and following this game resignation of head coach Senol Gunes and call of an early election from Besiktas CEO Ahmet Nur Cebi has meant that team would be going through very difficult period and it has been interesting how side would be responding to this with unexperienced but potential coach Burak Yilmaz. It needs to be mentioned that Besiktas did come into togetherness for this game and has been focussed to get win especially when it was playing at home ground. Not being able to prepare to game in ideal conditions this factors has been seen but it is clear that Burak Yilmaz did provide an important confidence and motivational talk prior to game. It could be argue that it did play against opponent who has been in bad condition. But still its difficult to come out and show such top performance in such conditions.

Meanwhile, looking from Istanbulspor perspective it continues to have some issues especially in the attack and due of this factor has failed to provide right reaction and pressure and it needs to find solutions urgently in this national team break.

Besiktas did manage to get such an important win in such crucial mental conditions but now side would find new head coach very likely and possibly prepare for next game in better conditions.

Galatasaray has won Antalyaspor despite of signs of tiredness during game.

Galatasaray continues its winning run raising it to the 7 games back-to-back in the league, this time beating into tough game against Antalyaspor as it showed signs of tiredness following Champions League game against Manchester United.

Turkish clubs in generally, and especially Galatasaray tend to show some issues when returning from Champions League back to the league with losing some crucial points historically. Even through Galatasaray did win game, it still needs to be stated that it did show some serious signs of tiredness during 1st half and also Antalyaspor being aware of that did show some good reaction to this. In fact, Antalyaspor did show very good defensive game but didnt support that with an attacking game and taking account into quality legs of Istanbul giant it would not be enough. In fact, Mauro Icardi has been pretty far from top level performance but did convert a goal which did bring victory from 2:0 scoreline. It has been tough game hence for them but their did get an important win and would enter to national team break at high confidence.

Galatasaray has been far from its used dominant game but did use its opportunities in 2nd half in pretty effective manner without doubt.
