Galatasaray has got an upper hand against Hatayspor at Turkish Cup 1st leg game.

Galatasaray has managed to win Turkish Cup quarter-final 1st leg game against 1st league opponent Hatayspor with 2:0 scoreline and has got an upper hand of the tie with providing right focus and tempo for the game and preventing at getting surprising result.

Even through for most amount of the game has been played with 1:0 scoreline, Galatasaray had control of the game and has been one which was creating chances for most of the game especially during 1st half. Meanwhile, it was also 1st goal scored by defender Christian Luyindama with great header provided from corner kick and has shown his 1st mark at his new club especially with not very satisfying previous game against Alanyaspor. It was known prior to game that Galatasaray would be providing full concentration towards Turkish Cup especially taking account that among teams left at the competition it is main candidate to win tournament due of its status. Especially taking account that Hatayspor has shown impressive game against Basaksehirspor during previous game has led for Galatasaray to take full concentration. This result of course has shown how much Galatasaray took this game seriousness as it has shown strong attacking game and has led for providing an attacking game until final whistle which could be seen from last minute goal from Sofiane Feghouli. This win would also provide some calmness to Galatasaray head coach Fatih Terim whose dad has been passed away this morning.

Hatayspor meanwhile had trouble to provide much opposition to Galatasaray even through their did focus to game into full concentration and aimed to provide some difficulty time. Of course, fast tempo from Galatasaray and early goals did affect plans and motivation for a team.

Yeni Malatyaspor has managed to win Turkish Cup quarter-final 1st leg game against Goztepe with a minimum scoreline thanks to great goal by Baris Alici who has scored fast goal from individual fast tempo and it should be stated that Yeni Malatyaspor did show better performance.

Yeni Malatyaspor was coming out as favourite during this tie against Goztepe due of better performance at the recent weeks at the league and does provide high level performance and without doubt has high aims during this Turkish Cup. Trabzonspor didnt manage to get through disciplined Umraniyespor at Turkish Cup.

Umraniyespor continues at showing pretty decent performance at the Turkish Cup as it had managed to draw against Trabzonspor and showing very disciplined performance, preventing Trabzonspor to show very effective game.

Stating that, it needs to be noted that we are not seeing Trabzonspor performance in similar manner as their did during 1st half of the season but once again it needs to be noted from yesterday game that club which has relegated Fenerbahce on previous round has provided strong disciplined game as their got high motivation and confidence after previous round of competition. Trabzonspor meanwhile could be stated didnt provide strong performance as their minds could be at Galatasaray game which would be played on 10th February at the league and hence players tend to be very careful. Trabzonspor didnt manage to get through Umraniyespor at Turkish Cup.

Trabzonspor didnt manage to get a  win against its opponent at the home ground during Turkish Cup quarterfinal 1st leg game against surprising side of this season competition Umraniyespor even through Trabzonspor has provided an attacking game.

It needs to be stated that Trabzonspor even through has been one which was creating high amount of the chances, it didnt get into tempo which was used by them on previous games and have some lack of providing last touches. It does need to be stated that even through Trabzonspor still provides reasonably well performance, it does look to be away from 1st half of the season and does look to be have lacking of creating final touches at the attack which was also visible during today's game. Besiktas players has shown great concentration to the game against Antalyaspor.

Fatih Terim has shown impatience with getting new players during Alanyaspor game. 

Galatasaray has lost crucial 2 points for its title race as it has drawn 1:1 against Alanyaspor at the game where team did provide any top performances and didnt show strong togetherness as both Lumiyandama and Mitroglou has started at starting 11.

Fenerbahce has won 1st time back-to-back with win against Goztepe. 

Fenerbahce has managed to get a win against Goztepe during Super League 20th week game with 2:0 scoreline and has gained lots of positive aspects such as winning back-to-back 1st time this season and not conceding goal and even more importantly has improved a lot with its performances.

Even through Fenerbahce has managed to win 2-games back-to-back it is important to state that team cant afford to relax as it is still at danger zone as it didnt get still mid-30s points but without doubt team is showing right trajectory during its performance as it didnt only win game but has managed to show good game with lack of the mistakes. This game both tactically and also performance wise has become closer to the aim which is Ersun Yanal aims to create as he wants for a team to be more attacking and controlling ball. It was visible also that Fenerbahce has managed to keep ball with very organised passes and keep ball at its legs. Whole team most importantly has managed to provide as togetherness performance aiming to get ahead with Nabil Dirar also showing one of his best performances since joining team last season. It was also important for Victor Moses to score his 1st goal at his new club with great organisation with Roberto Soldado who also shown great performance.

Goztepe meanwhile didnt provide a great performance during whole game and apart of sections at 2nd half didnt get much into game which has happened mainly due of good organised game of Fenerbahce, but still Goztepe didnt show good performance during 2nd half of the season which has affected their performance also today.

It was important for Fenerbahce to show such great performance with both aiming to get as soon as possible to psychological mark of mid-30 points and also get into habit to provide top football prior to knockout stages of Europa League.

Galatasaray would come out to Alanyaspor after having relief from transfer window.

As Galatasaray administrators and fans has got huge relief following mid-season transfer window where their managed to get crucial forward players during last 48 hours, it would now provide full focus back to the league as their would be meeting against Alanyaspor during Super League 20th week game.

It needs to be noted that Galatasaray, even without attackers, has started 2nd half of the season at the high note and hence their chances of winning game would become even higher as it is expected that Kostas Mitroglou would be recieving some playing time even through he might not start at the starting 11. With this relief which club has been recieving it would be aiming to reflect that with its performance as it would be aiming to stay close to Basaksehirspor as for now it does look to be main opponent for title race and aims to provide some nervousness moments towards them. Alanyaspor in return would be aiming to provide also good performance even through selling its player Merih Demiral to Sassuolo would effect negatively to the side but it is important for team to have some belief and focus towards Galatasaray game if it wants to provide some shock to Istanbul giants.

Trabzonspor would play against side which has almost changed its squad during mid-season window.

With Trabzonspor not being able to have any transfers due of the ban which their had recieved for not paying salaries to some players, it was at least capable at focussing at their game against Ankaragucu and not be distracted with transfer negotiations.

It can be noted that once again Trabzonspor new star Yunus Parlak is expected to take key role of the side as team would be aiming to get its first win of the 2nd half of the Super League as it has found further from title race in last 2 games. Ankaragucu who didnt manage to win for 8 games, would come out without knowing much as it has managed to change almost whole its squad during last 3 days and would be expected even to include around 3-4 players at its squad so it would be hard for Trabzonspor to know what kind of performance, in fact Ankaragucu fans and technical staff possibly doesnt know much what to expect from side. Still, Trabzonspor would be coming as favourite when watching teams recent performance and would aim for sure to get back to the race for top places at the league and likely would aim to get it with comfortable scoreline on the day.

Fenerbahce would aim to win back-to-back as it would play against Goztepe.

As been following an important Fenerbahce win against Yeni Malatyaspor, it would be important for Istanbul giant club to carry on its winning performance against Goztepe to get some relaxing mood and start moving away from relegation zone.

Last win against team which is having very good season, would affect positively to confidence and motivation towards players and regain trust and support from Fenerbahce supporters who so far have been pretty dissapointed to their players but 20th week game against Goztepe prior to the game many players, administrators and supporters at the club would be looking in more positive manner but certainly would also expect improvement of performance as still Fenerbahce didnt show foulless game against Yeni Malatyaspor even through it was 1st time when it had full control of the game. Even through Goztepe, are not having also a great season on their part, it still could be stated that side has potentiality to provide some difficult moment from Fenerbahce and it is important for Istanbul side to look at this game in similar manner as their did during last week. Galatasaray has transferred Mbiaye Diagne for 4.5 years.

Galatasaray has finally made much-anticipated transfer of an attacker, as it has announced that it has transferred Kasimpasa player Mbiaye Diagne for 4.5 years for 10 million euro transfer deal.

The expectation of this transfer has been taking for almost whole transfer window and Galatasaray did all their best to get a deal with negotiations with Kasimpasa as club has provided, quite understandingly, more barriers than the player but it has made a deal for a very good price of 10 million euro. Reason why Kasimpasa didnt want to sell him at all or for a cheap, is same reason why Galatasaray has wanted him to buy a lot, which is 20 goals scored so far at the Super League,whic is double more than 2nd goalscorer at the league. Meanwhile, it needs to be reminded that Mbiaye Diagne still has 2-game ban from PFDK due of red card, but it would be over as player would go through it against this weekend game against Alanyaspor and also Turkish Cup against Hatayspor, hence would be available during an important game for a team against Trabzonspor. Meanwhile, their are been cases at football where players didnt provide same performance as their did at more mediocre sides and if that would be an issue for Diagne time would show.

But without doubt at first glance Mbiaye Diagne should be able to solve an attackers issue for the team for rest of the season.

Besiktas has loaned Borussia Dortmund player Shinji Kagawa.

The most eye-catching transfer deal which was made as mid-season  transfer window was coming to the close in Turkey has been loan deal made with Borussia Dortmund player Shinji Kagawa.
With losing an important players at the squad at defence such as Pepe and also Tosic earlier this season, it would have some issues at weakening its defence if their didnt find solution for this.

However, it has loaned Borussia Dortmund which would be able as player to fulfill this gap as long as he provides great performance. As it tends to be case of known players coming to Turkey, Besiktas has been lucky that Kagawa didnt recieve much playing time during this season at this season and didnt have much support from head coach. This however doesnt mean that Kagawa is in bad form, even through not in his highest point, and would be expected to provide huge help and trust with his performance at the back of the goal with possible also be able to communicate German with Lorius Karius at goal.

Kagawa transfer has been good news for Besiktas and should be able to solve some defence issues at the team for rest of the season.
