What happened in Turkish football today? 04/10/2024

New foreign players limit focuses into potential stars.

Limitations regarding of foreign players limit for 2025-26 season at Super League has become clear as unlimited factor of foreign players has been focussed into younger players.

With blue card system also being over, unlimited players limit would be related to younger player of younger than 24 and hence would be aiming to promote both younger players and also provide strong financial conditions to the Super League clubs as players would develop. Limit for players older than 24 would be 3 players and also would have requirement of recieving 75% playing time at national team duty. Following guidelines hence would also lead for Turkish clubs to reduce average age of the team and provide dynamics and focus into academy of the sides. Most importantly it would reduce for players who are close to career to be joining actively to Super League clubs.

On paper, it does look to be effective guidelines for foreign players limit but as always it could raise some issues among clubs and make some unhappy.

With reports that Fenerbahce would be aiming to provide much more attacking game starting with game against Samsunspor, Jose Mourinho would be gladful that Allan Saint-Maximilian has returned to the team and would provide an important strength at the attacks for team due of nice control of the ball from Maximilian and also tempo which does he provide as he would be expected to start against Samsunspor if his condition would be entirely ready.
