Besiktas Park has bidden for 2026 or 2027 finals at  UEFA competitions.

TFF has announced that it would provide candidacy to host Europa League and Conference League on 2026 and 2027 for Besiktas Park Stadium as final decision would be given on May 2024. 

As it is known for long period of time Istanbul has managed to host finals of UEFA competition,with Champions League on last season has been best example of successful hosting and hence it would be once again try to get its appointment in fact in simular manner as it did previous run as it both hosted Champions League and after some years last UEFA Cup final. Therefore, with using a reputation of being great host and good stadiums, it would be trying its chance once again with winning hosting rights are being pretty high.

Decision as been noted would be made on May 2024 as Istanbul would get an opportunity to make its bid even stronger.

Cagdas Atan started talks with Basaksehirspor after resigning from Kayserispor.

Kayserispor head coach Cagdas Atan in pretty unexpected manner has resigned from his post but after short period of time it became clear that he is having talks with Basaksehirspor for same position.

Moving from Kayserispor towards Basaksehirspor certainly would be seeing as rising level as both sides does have two very different aims and also quality factors as Istanbul club is looking for new coach after Emre Belozoglu resignation on previous day. It needs to be mentioned that Cagdas Atan did show some good performance at the club which didnt make any transfers due of transfer ban and does have modest players among also showing rising level of performance in recent years.

Gaziantep made principal deal with Marius Sumudica

Gaziantep has made principal agreement with Marius Sumudica as he is showing some unusual style of refereeing on previous stays and did make some interesting statements. 

It needs to be admitted that Sumudica during his reigns with Turkish clubs did show some very good performance wise but he has been remembered with his behaviour and statements especially several times stating that players are on that level and hence damaging their motivation and confidence in upcoming games and also making strong statements regarding referees. Halil Dervisoglu joins Turkish National Team after Umut Nayir injury.

Galatasaray player Halil Dervisoglu has joined Turkish National Team squad in place of Umut Nayir who has become injured as to some extend this has been exchange of two pretty similar players at the same level.

It needs to be mentioned that Umut Nayir is being strong attacking player but Turkish National Team head coach Stefan Kuntz was likely thinking him to be using as substitute and as been noted Halil Dervisoglu in simlar has been a good alternative player and key substitute when coming on the field so this substitude will not provide much quality affect prior to Euro 2024 qualifier. However, when coming into personal aspects this has been good opportunity for Dervisoglu to show himself to the coach during training session as he wasnt called for national team for some time now.

Hence, this could be good opportunity to get some playing time even for Halil Dervisoglu and show his skills on the field.

Besiktas signs Eric Bailly for 3+1 years.

Besiktas has signed Manchester United player Eric Bailly for 3+1 years at the last moment before providing squad for Conference League to UEFA as team did get a good name on its disposal for upcoming season.

It would be needed to reminded that Bailly didnt necessarily provide much chances at Manchester United and didnt get much playing time which would provide some worry to Besiktas players but it would need to be reminded that he is coming from top club and did have some training opportunities and if he does show fast adaptation to Super League could have good opportunity. Bailly could also see this joining to Besiktas as an opportunity to restart his career which could have for sure positive impact to him and team.

Time would show but side did make a good potential player which could show good and confident performance in this season both domestically and in Europe.

Fenerbahce aims to sell Luan Peres

With Fenerbahce aimint to reduce foreign players at its squad from 17 to 14, due of players limit set by TFF it is reported that main priority is to sell Luan Peres in upcoming days.

Luan Peres has been signed with high expectations during past season and despite of showing some good performance occassionally in overall he didnt provide level which would been expected for this club and hence it is unlikely for him to get much playing time and hence currently team is looking clubs which it could sell him to and where transfer option would be open at.

Fenerbahce is being only side to win all games this season.

Fenerbahce has got one of the most difficult away games win in this league against Ankaragucu thanks to the great goal from Bright Osayi-Samuel as the game wasnt played at very good field.

It needs to be mentioned that even through football field did actually look in very good condition, it did have lots of areas which could have lead for some uncontrolable game but luckily not single player has been affected negatively. Fenerbahce didnt show very good performance but it needs to be stated that it did get very good position with Edin Dzeko who didnt score and same has been in 2nd half. However, at winning goal he did provide great assist so it was still good night for him. Even through there is legitimate argument that Fenerbahce are not yet showing their best performance, they are only one team in league to have 100% record so some things are going well but there are areas to improve during national team break.

Fenerbahce will be entering to break with highest confidence and motivation and would be aiming to carry on top level performance after national team games.

Besiktas enters to break with good win against Sivasspor.

Besiktas without doubt needed to show some reaction at the league after drawing against Pendikspor and it did that against Sivasspor at home ground as it did use its chances effectively and showed good comfortable performance.

Besiktas does provide mixed performance on the field so far during this season and is being unstable during games but it needs to be mentioned that apart of few minutes in the start of the game, after scoring an relatively early goal with Omar Colley has led side to provide much more organised performance at the field and hence did get an important win against Sivasspor and owuld be entering into national team break at confident manner. Still, it needs to be mentioned that Senol Gunes would need to work on stamina of side which it needs to raise for 90 minutes, an issue which has present during previous season but without doubt this game did provide some positive expecations for rest of the season.

Main focus for Besiktas in this break would be to focus into  how to improve its performance on field after national team break hence.

Besiktas signs Tayfur Bingol

Besiktas has made transfer deal with Alanyaspor player Tayfur Bingol, as same player has been loaned to them during last season where he showed good performance.

Tayfur Bingol it needs to be mentioned that did show pretty confident and strong performance at Besiktas during last season and did play an important role of team rising level in the end of the season and hence wouldnt also have an issue with adaptation. It also needs to be stated that he did show some good performance at Alanyaspor in this season on previous 4 games and hence would be coming to Istanbul giant at high focus and readiness.

This transfer without doubt is being very effective and would help Besiktas to provide some strong performance both in league and at Conference League.

Fenerbahce continues its winning streak against tough Ankaragucu 

Fenerbahce continues its 100% record run during this season in all competitions as it got win against one of the difficult away games in this league against Ankaragucu thanks to the goal from Samuel Osayi-Samuel on 61st minute.

It could be argued that current league leaders are not showing dominant game and has allowed Ankaragucu to create some chances but the team still continues to win in whatever circumstances as Edin Dzeko especially did look to be in good form despite of not converting two goals and has been name to provide a great assist to Osayi-Samuel which ended up being a great goal without doubt. Therefore, it has been important for Fenerbahce to get such win without providing too much great game but has shown detirmanation and it needs to be reminded that towards last 10 minutes it has been with one less man due of two yellow cards of Ismail Yuksek which two of them being undebatle but 2nd could be defended for being out of panic. Fenerbahce still got very important win and does enter to national team break at very high confidence and motivation.

Ankaragucu it needs to be mentioned that did provide lots of problems to Fenerbahce players with providing strong performance and has provided both strong defensive performance and showed good counter-attacking game. Despite of loss, Ankaragucu does provide promising view for games after national team break.

Besiktas got confident result against Sivasspor with 2 goals coming on 1st half.

Besiktas has got a confident win against Sivasspor thanks to 2 goals which been scored during 1st half by Omar Colley and Milot Rashica as Sivas side didnt manage to provide pressure to opponents as much as was expected prior to game.

It needs to be mentioned that possibly in the sense of the domination and providing strong attacking game Besiktas didnt provide it entirely, but it did provide strong organising and patient game with strong focus into defence and also creating some effective chances. It needs to mentioned that prior to 1st goal by Omar Colley, game has been going in between for some parts but as soon as goal did come and also after 15 minutes goal from Milot Rashica has made things much easier and let Besiktas to play much more controllable game with controlling tempo of the game. It also needs to eb mentioned that it has been important for Besiktas to bounce back in strong manner after unexpected draw against Pendikspor and send strong message for league title.

Sivasspor on their parts have been expected prior to game to provide some aggresive performance and some aggresive performance as it did have pretty good start of the season but it needs to be mentioned that team has been affected negatively from conceded goals. Galatasaray got easy win against out of form Gaziantep

Galatasaray got a confident win against Gaziantep with 3 goals which did come mainly for poor performance of opponents as it didnt provide much resistance and organising game but it does need to be mentioned that positive play both by Kerem Akturkoglu and Mauro Icardi also been key with this result.

There were some worries that Galatasaray might be negatively affected by Champions League play-off round game against Molde which went pretty physically and even through side didnt provide very good performance, it didnt affect possibly much negatively into performance wise as it started to provide an attacking game and found an early goal with Akturkoglu after his goal has been disallowed. It was clear that aim has been to find an early goal and get control of the game against side which is being at bad form and it has managed to do just that. Even through some criticism could be given to performance of the side at field, it still has shown good and confident performance and has got an important win prior to national team break which it deserved as it played many games.

Hence, Galatasaray would enter to national team break as it would focus into improving its performance and also make some last moment transfers.

Galatasaray has got confident result against Gaziantep but needs to improve

Galatasaray has managed to get confident win against Gaziantep during Super League 4th week with 3:0 scoreline as it has provided once again into highly focussed results but it needs to be admitted that Gaziantep is being currently at poor form which made things easier to Istanbul giant.

It needs to be mentioned that Galatasaray did start game at high note with providing an effective attacking game with finding an early goal by Kerem Akturkoglu on 2nd minute but goal has been disallowed due of offside however Akturkoglu continued to push and did find a goal after 4 minutes. It needs to be stated that after 1:0 Galatasaray did lose domination of the game and to some extend did allow Gaziantep to create chances and thats taking account that opponent did lack organised game and hence this game should be a lesson still to Galatasaray despite of the result. During 2nd half, Galatasaray to some extend has continued to show such game but Mauro Icardi once again has taken leading role and did find 2 goals with one coming from penalty. Therefore, Icardi has been once again key player but Okan Buruk needs to focus on how to make this team much strong at attacks.

Gaziantep has provided pretty poor performance with making mistakes at defence and also didnt have much chances including in moments when Galatasaray to some extend and it does look both in transfers and also performance wise it has many things to do at national team break.

Galatasaray did get 3:0 win but it does lack dominance which people used at team during previous season and this should be focus for Okan Buruk in upcoming season.

Trabzonspor got confident win against Kasimpasa.

Trabzonspor has got a confident win against Kasimpasa with 5:1 scoreline at the game where it has provided in total of 6 shots with only not being converted as goal and has provided fast tempo game.

Even through Trabzonspor did get such win against Kasimpasa it still needs to be mentioned that Trabzonspor didnt get full dominance of the game especially at the start of the game where Kasimpasa has provided some pressure towards Trabzonspor goal and did find some high number of the chances. In fact, it would be unfair to state that Kasimpasa showed very poor game as it aimed for positive focussed game but it show poor game at defence with Trabzonspor getting goals in all its attacks as been noted. In Trabzonspor side with losing back-to-back 2 games in the league, such a win would provide much needed confidence before national team break and could be turning point for them in the season.It has also been good night for Enis Bardhi.

Hence, Trabzonspor did get an important win without doubt and would be entering to national team break at high morale and confidence.

Fenerbahce would aim to carry on winning run against resistant Ankaragucu 

Fenerbahce would be aiming to continues its winning run of 2023-24 season with a game against Ankaragucu which tends one of the most difficult away games due of strong support which Ankara supporters tend to recieve from its fans.

It needs to be mentioned that Fenerbahce without doubt has got wind behind their back with results both from the league and also Conference League qualifying and has become very good players among strong players and hence when coming into performance wise Fenerbahce would be one of the favourites. In addition, there is also expectation for Livakovic to be playing in starting 11 and hence he and whole team might be getting an extra movitation for this game. Coming to Ankaragucu, it is being side which has aimed for long time to provide performance at which it would be able to compete with big clubs and always been highly motivated in such games and hence we might see some organised performance from Ankaragucu which might lead from Fenerbahce to focus into providing some creativity on the field if it wants to get win.

Fenerbahce is being on good form both with results and also level of players and hence it would be coming as strong favourites but it wont be an easy as Ankaragucu as been mentioned tends to provide strong performance against big 4 clubs.

What happened in Turkish football today? 01/09/2023

Trabzonspor got confident 5:1 win after losing 2 league games.

After losing back-to-back in the Super League, Trabzonspor has managed to get win against Kasimpasa with an impressive scoreline of 5:1 at the game where it only had 6 shots but has provided fast attacking game at every position.

It needs to be mentioned that when looking at 90 minutes on both sides and despite of such scoreline it is hard to state that it was high tempo game and that Trabzonspor did actually provide dominating game but what Trabzonspor has managed to do is that it did use its chances very effectively and all of the shots has been dangerous as their were also disallowed goals. It would be also important to note that it does look like Trabzonspor head coach Nenad Bjelica has been aware of defence weaknesses which Kasimpasa has and was working on them. Only negative part of the game for Trabzonspor could be given first minutes of the game where Trabzonspor has failed to prevent Kasimpasa to create number of dangerous chances until it has scored its first goal on 18th minute. It also has been good night for Enis Bardhi who has found 2 goals and hence gained lots of confidence for upcoming weeks.

Kasimpasa meanwhile actually did provide good attacking game especially at the start as it did create some good chances and did provide pressure and in fact did find well-deserved goal when looking on attacking perspective. But this game has been failure in sense of defence as it provided simple chances to Trabzonspor on goal.

Trabzonspor hence did get an important win before national team break after losing 2 games and has managed to do that with scoreline like 5:1 and hence this would lead team to raise its morale and confidence in this national team break.

Besiktas would fight for 1st spot with Club Brugge very likely.

Taking account levels of opponents at the Conference League in generally, it was expected for both Fenerbahce and Besiktas to get relatively easy opponents in the group stage and this has been case with Besiktas getting slightly more difficult group compare to Fenerbahce.

With Besiktas due of low coefficient compare to Fenerbahce did enter to draw at 3rd pot and with an aim to get 1st spot so it wouldnt play 2nd round of the competition it does look like main opponent for that would be Club Brugge as it is not side to be taken as it been developing pretty well and does aim to make competitive side as getting to Conference League would be seen as failure for them without doubt. And it also need to be reminded that it did have some issues with them at once which been seen as surprising result and once again Club Brugge is better side than it was back then and Besiktas surely would fight for 2nd spot against them. Other opponents Bodo/Glimt and Lugano should not provide too much issues but it needs to be focussed.

Hence, it does look like Besiktas would be coming out from group but it does need to focus to get 1st spot at the end of the group.

Fenerbahce can easy make 6 out of 6 from Conference League group

As been noted Besiktas should be able to come out from group, but it does need to be mentioned that Fenerbahce with having advantage of being 1st pot at the draw, did get teams which it shouldnt have much issues with.

Only side which could provide some problems could be seen as Ludogorets which did develop as team pretty lot in recent seasons, but again it would be expected that it would be winning both games but could struggle most there. To all respect towards Spartak Trnava and Nordjaelland, Fenerbahce should not have much issues. Hence, for Fenerbahce aiming for top spot it could provide a possible end group stage with 100%. Fenerbahce performance at qualifying stages, especially against Twente during 1st leg does show that this task could be achieved without much issues.

Fenerbahce hence did get an easy group and if weird things will not happen it should be able to cruise in that group.

Adana Demirspor has provided impressive performance despite being relegated against Genk on penalty shoot-out

Adana Demirspor has been very close to get to the Conference League proper stage as it did lose at penalties to Genk with 5:4 scoreline despite of winning game 90 minutes of home ground but due of loss at Belgium game went as far as to penalty kicks.

It needs to be mentioned that taking account that Adana Demirspor is being played at its first season at its own history, it has provided confident and strong performance against one of the experienced sides in the Europe and especially at qualification stages. It could be noted that Adana Demirspor didnt provide necessarily strong and confident performance in the 1st half as it did take time for side to get into tempo which it has been needed but things did change during 2nd half as it provided strong performance and Ndiaye has converted side. It needs to be mentioned that Adana Demirspor still showed very good performance and as been noted it has been unlucky on penalty kicks as only player which didnt convert has been Younes Belhanda.

It needs to be stated that playing in Adana did provide some issues to the Genk as their didnt get control of the game which we have seen during 1st leg from them but still it has managed to get some good opportunities and with some good defensive game and has pushed game until penalty kick where it has converted all goals and been lucky for Belhanda not scoring his chance.

Besiktas reaches to group stage at Conference League with beating Dynamo Kyiv at home with minumum scoreline.

Besiktas has managed to get win against Dynamo Kyiv at home ground with minumum scoreline of 1:0 thanks to the goal of Vincent Aboubakar which did celebrate right next to the opponent head coach Mircea Lucescu after his comments regarding of African National Team.

Despite of winning game with minumum scoreline and getting through play-off round with an aggregate scoreline of 4:2, it needs to be stated that Besiktas has been side which did control game and has created opportunities as it used its home ground advantage and also 1 week break did go into its own hand as it did focus entirely to the game. Therefore, it could be stated that Besiktas did come out mentally ready to the game as it been looking for chances but didnt convert chances in 1st half due of organised defence of Dynamo Kyiv and also being unlucky in some positions. It also needs to be mentioned that this fighting spirit has led for Besiktas to have even better start during 2nd half as it provided confident performance and has found a great goal on 52nd minute from Vincent Aboubakar which did clinch win. With Dynamo Kyiv not being as effective as there were in 1st leg, Besiktas has managed to stay calm and control game more or less to keep its 2 goal advantage at aggregate.

Dynamo Kyiv as been mentioned didnt provide as strong performance as their did during 1st leg and didnt show much fighting spirit with only positive side performance-wise could be only conceding 1 goal as it did show good defence. Still with taking account that team did come out with young squad, Lucescu could be happy with such positive attitude.

Besiktas did get through Conference League group stage thanks to the goal from Vincent Aboubakar which continues to be taking leading role at attacking level for club and has got through with fairly result for them.

Fenerbahce gets to Conference League group stage at confident manner with minumum win against Twente

Fenerbahce has won an away game against Twente with 1:0 scoreline thanks to the goal from Edin Dzeko from penalty kick but more important Istanbul giant has got through group stage with an aggregate scoreline of 6:1. 

Despite of getting win against Twente, it could be mentioned that Fenerbahce didnt necessarily provide dominant game and organising game but this could be highly understandable as it did come to the game with 5:1 scoreline and didnt concede a single goal especially on 1st minutes of the game against opponent which needed urgently to find goals if it wanted to have chance for next round. It also needs to be mentioned that both sides did provide pretty strong physical game and looked ot be aggressive which led for some yellow cards from Fenerbahce which would be transforming to group stages of Conference League and hence could provide some issues. Still,probably main reason why this game didnt provide much pressure and needless excitement at Fenerbahce front is to stay calm and provide simple game for 90 minutes and that taking account that it didnt provide very good performance attack.

Twente did come to the game seeking to show miracle comeback but rather than providing an attacking game it has decided to provide much aggressive game which also has affected into mentality of Fenerbahce players. It needs to be mentioned that this aggressive game could be due of emotional impact of 1st leg game.

Fenerbahce hence did get through to group stage of Conference League without much issues both against Twente and also in other qualifying stages and did send for sure strong message for this tournament proper stages.
