Galatasaray carries on 100% record even through Rizespor did provide some pressure to team.

 

Galatasaray carries on its 100% record at the Super League after it has beaten Rizespor with 3:1 scoreline even through it could be mentioned that compare to games until now it has been most struggling game for them.

 

It needs to be stated that Galatasaray has started game at good form with getting tempo which it needed and has provided strong pressure towards Rizespor goal with looking for opportunities which led them to find relatively an early goal with Davison Sanchez on 40^th minute which afterwards has led some relaxation from team as Rizespor did create chances back-to-back and did find 2 goals with both correctly being disallowed due of offside but Galatasaray did find another goal on 2^nd half but did make some tasks harder after game has went 2:0 and Rizespor regaining some confidence and did get some good chances but Mauro Icardi on last minute game has killed game. Galatasaray it needs to be mentioned did had some drop from performance compare to 3 games but even taken this account it has shown strong control of the game and in all honesty did look like it would win game without  much issues.

 

Rizespor which didn’t have very good start of the season needs to be praised with an effort which it gave to title holders with providing some issues and despite of result this game could have positive impact to upcoming weeks.

 

Galatasaray hence would be entering to national team break with 4 out of 4 and strong confidence and motivation with making clear to all followers in Turkish football that is being main title contenders.

 

Black Sea derby would be between 2 sides which are at great form.

 

Without doubt, one of the most exciting and anticipated games of 4^th week would be against two in form sides Trabzonspor and Samsunspor as both sides had a great start at the game which would be also Black Sea derby game.

 

It needs to be mentioned that even through Trabzonspor might not be showing a great performance , until 3^rd week it has been among Galatasaray side which had 100% record which means that it has gained confidence and motivational boost prior to this game while Samsunspor among showing good performance at only 1 game at the league so far has also showed strong and confident performance at the Europa League against Olympiakos. It needs to be stated that Trabzonspor meanwhile would play its first game against tough opponent at the league and hence it would be possibly its 1^st test to show if it is capable to fight for title in this season. It would be expected to be tactical game with both sides showing strong organising game and could be with some good tension.

 

Game would be expected to be played as derby as both sides would be able to show if there are in condition to fight for higher spots at this season.

 

Besiktas would open new chapter with game against Alanyaspor…

 

 

Besiktas would come at the Super League game against Alanyaspor with its new coach Sergen Yalcin as he would be opening another chapter afrer team has sacked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after poor performance of the team during Conference League qualifiers. With Sergen Yalcin would not be having lots of time to tactically prepare, team would be coming out purely at emotionally but new appointed coaches had tend to have positive impact to the teams and it would be expected to be case at the following game and hence Besiktas would be seen as favourites as it would be showing some good performance. Without doubt, poor start of the season for Alanyaspor would make task easier for Besiktas as it would be expected mainly to show defensive game with looking chances with counter-attacks.

 

Besiktas hence would be favourite and it would be interesting to see how Yalcin would impact to the team in such crucial game.

Fenerbahce has got an important win with confident performance against Kocaelispor.

 

Fenerbahce has got its first win during this season at home ground with 3:1  scoreline with providing some positive performance as team has been focussed towards game and did look for chances especially during 2^nd half.

 

Even through there is big difference at quality factor between sides, Fenerbahce did come out as much stronger team but it does need to be remembered that no game has been won without playing and also opponent did provide some good performance despite of not getting any chances. It need to be stated that Caglar Soyuncu possibly has been one of the main highlights of the game as he did provided his best game since joining team as among finding an opener he generally did show some positive game with looking for chances. It could be mentioned that for rest of the 2^nd half, team did reduce dominant game at the field but eventually it did raise tempo with also supporters providing some attacking gae and has found 2 more goals with also creating some chances and team has shown good confident an attacking game and did get well-deserved win.

 

Kocaelispor it needs to be mentioned did try to provide some response and resistance towards Fenerbahce and has managed to do so in 1^st half but quality factor has been played a role and despite of still not winning game it would be expected to show some good performance and get some results in upcoming weeks.

 

Fenerbahce as been mentioned team did win with providing strong attacking game and did regain confidence boost for Champions League 2^nd leg game against Benfica.

 

Baris Alper Yilmaz could have some impact to Galatasaray performance against Kayserispor.

 

Galatasaray are going to meet with Kayserispor at away game as it would be seeking to carry on its 100% record as it would be also played game as team does hae crises with Baris Alper Yilmaz who has been so far best player of the game.

 

Taking account that Baris Alper Yilmaz so far has been best player and also providing most effort during first 2 weeks, his absence could be felt mainly tactically rather than mentally as team would need to play differently. Trabzonspor would get its 1^st serious test against Antalyaspor

 

Trabzonspor would not only be seeking to get a win against Antalyaspor but most importantly to show strong and organised performance with showing more attacking game as opponent also has made 2 out of 2 so far during this season.

 

Both Trabzonspor and Antalyaspor has shown 100% record after 2 games, but it could be stated that Antalyaspor has been provided much better performance as Trabzonspor in all fairness didn’t get very convincing wins and to some extend has been lucky and has used quality factors. Hence, Trabzonspor would be first time meeting with tream which does show stronger and positive performance and hence this could be good test to see how Trabzonspor level and also would be seeking to show very strong performance on the field. Antalyaspor are aware that Trabzonspor performance wie and hence it would be expected them to see brave, positive and attacking game.

What happened in Turkish dootball today? 22/08/2025

 

Samsunspor did show good performance despite of loss.

 

Samsunspor has played its first game at European football after 27 years as it has lost with 2:1 scoreline to experience Greek side Panathiniakos but did provide some positive performance and does have some hope for 2^nd leg.

 

Despite  of losing to Panathiniakos, it needs to be mentioned that Samsunspor did show some strong and effective performance at the team especially during 1^st half of the game where it has and also part of 2^nd half as in start of that half it has found a great goal and did went ahead. However, mainly due of experience and also playing an away game has led them to lose concentration and control of the game to which Panathiniakos did get behind and ended game with 2:1 scoreline.

 

Saying that Samsunspor did provide some hope for 2^nd leg both with scoreline and also performance which it has shown and certainly it would give its best and fighting during 2^nd leg without doubt.

 

Besiktas defence has provided poor game against Lausanne.

 

Besiktas has once again had an issues with defensive game this time with Lausanne and hence has made both game and whole tie into difficulty as as it didn’t provide very effective performance on the field.

 

In fact, it has been interesting to see that Besiktas which didn’t provide very good 1^st half perforance did actually get ahead in the end of the half and did improve during 2^nd half but that’s half which led for game to be ended with draw. Defence of the game did make high number of simple mistakes it needs to be mentioned and actually Lausanne did convert many chances which they got and better side would be able to get much more confident result. Besiktas did lose mainly of defensive game and this is being an area for sure which it would need to work for improvement without doubt.

 

Besiktas needs to wrk on improving its defence for sure if it wants to get to Conference League league stage as Lausanne might be more effective at attacks.

 

Basaksehirspor didn’t show as dominat game as did Craioa

 

Basaksehirspor did get certainly unexpected result at home ground as it lost to Romanian leaders Univ Craioa as Istanbul side did lack dominant game and did lack concentration compare to opponents.

 

Basaksehirspor, to all respect to Romanian side,is being much more quality side but Craiova did want to win game and hence has provided much more organising game and did create some number of crucial chances with Galatasaray ex-player Cicaldau being one of the scorers at the game. Basaksehirspor did find goal towards end which could provide some hope for 2^nd leg.

 

Basaksehirspor chances to get to league stage of Conference League but it needs to show much more aggressive game in Romania without doubt.
