What happened in Turkish football today? 11.08.2016

Derby away fans ban has been lifted by Club's Union.

Club's Union has made a very important and long awaited announcement today stating that ban for away fans joining at the derby games has been lifted. The ban which people wanted to be lifted for very long time been taken away after strong union which is taking place in Turkish society following failed attempted coup d'etat which took place on 15th July.

The ban has been put after number of fights and other hooliganism behaviour has been taken out of hand during derby games. There was decision to put ban for away fans in games between Trabzonspor, Fenerbahce, Besiktas and Galatasaray and also at the Besiktas-Bursaspor fixtures. There is strong believe in football world right now that aftermath of attempted coup d'etat and strong democratic union at the nation would end this hooliganism behaviour and fans will be able to watch again next to each other without any activity.

This blog also hopes that this will take place and this is strong union would bring strong support for fans by their behaviour. This friendship air right now would make calm season which Turkish football needed.

Union feeling also takes place before Super Cup game.

There is also strong union feelling at the Super Cup game between Turkish league champions Besiktas and Turkish Cup winners Galatasaray on 13th August with hope to use this union feeling which been created after attempted coup d'etat.

There is strong chance that during the game both by teams and fans there would be some show of the unity after difficult night which Turkey went through on 15th July. Both Turkish Football Federation CEO Yildirim Demiroren, Besiktas head coach Senol Gunes and Galatasaray head coach Jan Olde Riekerink had stated among importance of the game, also mentioned about the union this game could bring. For very long time the feeling before derby game has been that calm mood and its important to stay like that at the time when game will take place.

How calm and friendly this game will take place both on sides by fans and teams would give us an idea if we should really accept very calm and friendly Super League season which starts next week.
