What happened in Turkish football today? 05/06/2020

Ozdemir statement that last 3 games could be played with supporters is unrealistically optimistic.

TFF CEO Nihat Ozdemir has stated that there is possibility to play last 3 weeks with supporters on the Super League if number of daily cases would be dropped to below 100 which is without doubt is very optimistic viewpoint for now as it raises again.

Even through for time being it does look like restarting league on 12th June could be seen as right decision, it could be stated once again that Ozdemir didnt provide strong analysis of his understanding of Covid19 period with such statement. This statement is not only being overly optimistic but also unrealistic as it is unlikely that we see amount of cases to be dropped below 100 in this summer. Therefore even through this statement could likely provide hope for club supporters with chance to celebrate league title its not being as been noted likely to be taken place surely not until 2020.

One of the issues in Turkey, even through it did show good fight against virus for most amount of time is being too optimistic with its expectations, view which could push back again its fight if this views are taken into action.

With 1 week left to restart, some clubs might be more advantegous then others.

With 1 weeks left until planned restart of the season, one of the questions has been if clubs are ready for upcoming season and it could be stated that despite of all difficulties which been given by Covid19 some clubs tend to be showing good condition.

Without doubt, real effect this period had to players would become clear in upcoming period but as Bundesliga has shown so far some clubs has returned in good condition and good form to restart while some not in such perfect condition. This would affect certainly to title race if this outcome could be affecting to title race sides. More would be discussed about those teams prior to restart of the league in our blog, but it could be stated that most club which looks to be in good condition for restart of the season looks to be Trabzonspor thankfully for not having any cases among players at whole clubs, at least not reported ones. Therefore, this could be given some advantage to them but surely this title race would push forward some sides in last 8 games at least mentally for sure.

Therefore, it would be interesting to see how clubs would be ready for upcoming weeks following such difficult period which whole world has went through.

Decision not to have curfew this weekend, is like playing Russian roulette

Stating with high chances of Super League to be restarted on 12th June, it needs to be noted that right now conditions in Turkey are being uncertain about future as we seeing some raise of number of cases after normalisation on 1st June.

Even through Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan has cancelled this decision, Home Office with suggestion from Science Committee did introduce once again curfew into weekend. However, Erdogan with cancelling this decision didnt actually that condition in country is not better compare to previous night but only been done social and economical reason. Therefore, this decision has been done due of finances issues. With such decision, government which been praised so far by many, including us, is playing Russian roulette right now and this could have some unwanted circumstances and all positive things done before could bring 2nd wave as it did in Iran.

This potential negative circumstances, which as writer of blog of course dont want to take place, certainly would affect for Super League season without doubt.
