What happened in Turkish football today? 15/06/2020

Sivasspor got crucial win against Denizlispor

In the week when Trabzonspor and Basaksehirspor has won their games and Galatasaray has lost 3 points, Sivasspor did come out to very crucial game against Denizlispor and did get very important goals thanks to Yatabare in the end of 1st half.

It could be stated that game did been played at mediocre game without high amount of the chances but despite of that game been played with Sivasspor control but it didnt provide much creativity. In fact, goal itself did come out in pure luck due of free kick shot from Sivasspor did touch Denizlispor defender at the wall which later has got right into feet to Yatabare who just needed to provide good shot. Of course, red card which did come out before that free kick did play important role for calmness and better control of the Sivasspor and to some extend their could be criticised for not finding 2nd goal. Sivasspor without doubt get important win and did provide better performance then its opponents but it needs to improve its performance if it wants to win title in this season. Still this result without doubt would provide very important motivation for last 7 games this season.
Even through red card of Denizlispor did have direct impact on their performance during 2nd half, it is hard to state their showed good performance during 1st half and did enough to win game. It does need to improve if it want to secure its spot for next season.

Sivasspor with this win did get very important 3 points with getting into 3rd spot and currently 4 points behind Trabzonspor and Basaksehirspor and could look for upcoming games with high level optimism.

Galatasaray got heart-breaking injuries but team didnt play well.

Galatasaray without doubt had unlucky news from injured players as both its players Fernando Muslera and Florin Andone at best has closed this season, but when looking at the game as overall against Rizespor its hard to note that things could been different without these injuries.

Galatasaray at best could be hoping to get draw if Muslera didnt become injuried since from beginning of the game Rizespor has been one at controlling game and creating chances, while
Galatasaray didnt manage to get into high amount of chances. In fact, Galatasaray did look in similar level which it was during 1st half of the season which is being main reason why team is playing catch up with top clubs in table. Therefore, its not only loss of 3 points, but game worries them and with Muslera who has gained crucial 1 point with his saves during whole season being absent makes tasks. It is true that referee of the game could have prevented both injuries due of events prior to them, but it would be wrong to blame referee for their loss and side needs to focus into their own mistakes if it wants to fight for title this season.

Sadly for them 3 month break and possibly worries from Covid19 cases during that break did bring back side into its lower performance which was seen on Autumn last year.

Fenerbahce and Trabzonspor expects to be highly intense game for sure.

With 1st week of Super League following lockdown been played, Turkish Cup would be also resuming with semi-final 2nd leg games with clubs would be playing with different mindset for sure compare to 1st legs.

Turkish Cup would be returned with one of the most anticipated games of football season between Fenerbahce and Trabzonspor 1st leg ending with 2:1 win to Black Sea side. With Trabzonspor being in the top of leagues it would be aiming to get double in this season, while Fenerbahce would be aiming to save season with hoping to get cup and get direct ticket to Europa League. Therefore, due of this conditions Fenerbahce could be more eager to win this 2nd leg with turning 2:1 small deficit at home ground but for sure Trabzonspor did look to be at better condition which been seen from this week games as Trabzonspor provided possibly best performance of all clubs in last week. It would be high intense game with both sides aiming for win, and surely one who would want more will get to the final.

Fenerbahce does look to be needing this win more but Trabzonspor would be providing strong performance for sure.
