What happened in Turkish football today? 18/06/2020

Alanyaspor has got into final game without much issues beating Antalyaspor.

Alanyaspor has got very confident win during Turkish Cup 2nd leg game with beating Antalyaspor with 4:0 scoreline thanks to Papiss Cisse hat-trick and getting to final game with 5:0 aggregate and will be playing against Trabzonspor

Prior to game, our blog did state that Alanyaspor looked to more out of shape compare to the opponents when comparing to leagues games played last week but we saw totally opposite in this game. Alanyaspor from kick-off has provided strong attacking game looking for positions and providing some shots which without doubt did play crucial role until 30 minutes with 2 goals looking for good chances. Without doubt, Cisse has been in one of the best during this season making with strong performance in the attack with finding 3 great goals especially back-to-back in 2nd half and did look for some other chances. Right now, Alanyaspor would be focussing into league game against Trabzonspor which would be for them also training for final game.

Antalyaspor on other hand did provide pretty poor performance without getting into control of the game and also being ineffective during with its own attacks and looked like it couldnt get into this game with full concentration providing mistakes and slow game in whole field. It needs to be admitted that Antalyaspor provided much strong performance during last week game against Besiktas but wasnt close at all to this game in this week therefore team needs to figure out what went wrong and aim not to show such game during last 7 games of this season. It needs to be noted also that following appointing of Tamer Tuna, club has shown its worst performance for sure.

Alanyaspor without doubt did provide very confident performance and with taking how it performed during whole season it did deserve to be on final game where it would give its best.

Basaksehirspor would aim to show patient organised game against Ankaragucu.

Basaksehirspor will get opportunity to get into leadership spot at least for 72 hours as it would be opening game of Super League 28th week game against Ankaragucu who is currently fighting for staying in the league.

Basaksehirspor during last week against Alanyaspor did once again provided patient and controllable game which led for team to win very important game and with Ankaragucu currently struggling in the league this kind of tactic could be working for them for sure. Once again, rule of not playing games without fans due of Covid19 prevention did could use this advantage for rest of the season and also during this game as it would not be experiencing any pressure from opponent potential supporters. Therefore, it would need to provide its usual organised game. Stating that, Ankaragucu who needs to win game to keep its hopes to stay in league could provide much more effective performance during this game compare to Alanyaspor.

Therefore, this game would be expected to be pretty tough one for Basaksehirspor as opponent need to win but its organised game could be doing trick for them.

Anthony Nwakaeme will not be able to play for 3-6 weeks due of injury.

Trabzonspor has announced that it has started recovery process of its player Anthony Nwakaeme who has become injured during Turkish Cup semi-final 2nd leg game against Fenerbahce.

It has also become clear that he would not be expected to play between 3-6 weeks and this could have some crucial circumstances for its title race as he is being one of the most in-form players in club and did play very important role for club to be in the top of the league. Still, Trabzonspor are providing strong and confident performance but his level of performance and being one of the players who is able to turn around games could provide some difficulty in some games including Galatasaray which he does risk of missing in 3 weeks time. Still, Trabzonspor does have strong squad and could find strong replacement during games for him.

Loss of Nwakaeme for next 3-6 weeks is being important one, but as club could be able to solve this issues in rest of the season.
