What happened in Turkish football today? 04/05/2018

Basaksehirspor has lost 2 crucial points against Sivasspor due of Mossoro red card.

Sivasspor player Robinho goal at the last minute has led Basaksehirspor to lose very crucial 2 points which without doubt have reduced chances for league title to very low as with Fenerbahce also winning against Bursaspor on 6th May would lead Fenerbahce to have advantage between two teams and also provide chance for Galatasaray to have point difference to 3 points if Galatasaray wins the game.

The game itself has been played with two halves where Basaksehirspor has dominated game almost whole 1st half before red card of the Mossoro and also Sivasspor controlling 2nd half and also finding last minute goal with help of Robinho. Basaksehirspor even when it has controlled game during 1st half didnt create high number of the chances and hence has paid price for not showing much more attacking game. It needs to be admitted that even through Basaksehirspor has been looked to be shown an attacking game and controlled game it needs to be admitted that Sivasspor didnt provide great game in overall but especilly 1st half. Basaksehirspor has been criticised that it was heavily reluctant to the luck but one time it might turn into them and that was happened to them during game with Sivasspor and quite opposite has been. Meanwhile, it was also observed that Basaksehirspor head coach Abdullah Avci and players when finding themselves at difficult games  has went into high nervous conditions and didnt manage to control it.

It needs to be stated that in overall Sivasspor has provided very poor performance against Basaksehirspor and has managed to win due of having an extra player and not great performance from Basaksehirspor especially when it has one less man. Sivasspor with this point keeps its chance for 5th spot.

Basaksehirspor has lost an important 2 points during this game and has found its chances for league title to very difficult position with 2 games left for them and being potentially 4 points behind leaders at the end of the week.

Fenerbahce would preferred to play Turkish Cup game against Besiktas.

Fenerbahce has managed to get to the Turkish Cup final game against Akhisarspor which would be played on 10th May, as date has been moved from TFF without coming out to the field as Besiktas has moved its protests talks into reality.

Fenerbahce as it was known for long time has been preparing itself for this game and hence has been prepared for the game while Besiktas in all its actions and finally not coming to the game has shown its stance. This decision by Besiktas, regardless how much its sees itself right to do and fighting for fairer football has been heavily criticised as it has also got some chances to save itself which looks to be season where it has lost its title as its 4 points leaders Galatasaray with only 3 games left until end of the season. Fenerbahce meanwhile has an opportunity to train for Bursaspor crucial game at its own stadium and get into the mood of such an important game as it keep looking for also opportunity to come to themselves for the title. Fenerbahce players and head coach Aykut Kocaman after having training session while waiting for Besiktas to make surprise arrival which never happened that their would liked for Besiktas to arrive and to some extended stated that following behaviour from Besiktas is disrespect to football followers around country.

Fenerbahce in one stance are happy that their got into final where their would meet with Akhisarspor at the Turkish Cup final but as been stated their would like to get there with showing their skills at footballing field.

Trabzonspor is much more focussed to game compare to Kasimpasa.

Even through quite naturally all focus at our blog and Turkish sports media is giving to exciting 4-team title race with 3 games left there is strong and exciting race to get 5th place which could mean that team which gets that position would get to Europa League if Fenerbahce wins Turkish Cup next week.

With one of the main candidates to get that spot which would be meeting with Kasimpasa which more or less is turning to be team without an aim even through it wouldnt mind to get couple of points to make this factor much more secure. Trabzonspor still has some issues with its injured players and hence would not be able to play against Kasimpasa but this target focus for the team should be able to push them forward at the game with attackers once again aiming to show good attacking and creating chances. Kasimpasa would quite naturally focus to provide good game towards end of the season but it needs to show good performance and also raise its focus for the game if it wants to dissapoint Trabzonspor and reduce their chances for 5th spot at the end of the season. Playing at home it would also recieve strong support from fans which would like for team which has come out to the season with high aims to end at least at high note and enjoy some European football next season.

As been stated, Trabzonspor would be coming as favourite for the game but still as always it needs to be stay focus so it wont lose its chance to end season at 5th spot this season
