What happened in Turkish football today? 26/05/2018

Mustafa Cengiz has been reelected as Galatasaray CEO.

Galatasaray CEO Mustafa Cengiz has been re-elected during today's CEO election which does show that club's administration are showing full support to the current CEO who has won surprising 4 months ago during snap election against Dursun Ozbek and beating him once again during today's election.

This dominance of Mustafa Cengiz during CEO election, as he has recieved more votes than his opponents has been come to the factor that he has provided trust to the team with how he has run team in past months. It does look like club is going into right direction and Cengiz as CEO is capable to find solution to the economical solution. It also needs to be remembered that current title did come when he was leading the team which without doubt does affect do the election of the result. This result without doubt would not be seen as surprise as he did get strong support from members of the team and also supporters during those past months and has provide hope for good future for the team with his statements and also achievements he shown last 4 months. It needs to be also mentioned that having great administrator Abdurrahim Albayrak who leads motivation of the players and also had always experienced league title while being administrator also played an important role.

Mustafa Cengiz has come to short period when he won last time but now he would reign of 3 years which would be without more crucial and he would show how much he would lead team right now.

Playing against World Cup contenders would be good test for youngsters in national team.

Turkish National Team would be playing in duration of 2 weeks 3 friendly games which it would be meeting with World Cup 2018 contenders Iran, Tunisia and also hosts Russia. It would be present to hope that team also would be among entrants to World Cup but it didnt happen.

Even through those opponents would not be seen as top level clubs, it would be still good tests especially for younger player to see their strength against team which would be in Russia during this summer including highly aimed hosts Russia. The main aim for Mircea Lucescu without doubt would be also to check conditions of the younger names as he is aiming to build future team for Nations League which would be starting in September. Therefore being also young side and also playing against team at World Cup it would be able to see how much this side is ready fro Euro 2020 qualifiers and Nations League and even through the result will not be crucial for the team for those games it would be moving forward to check how team would be playing and how well their would understand each other. Therefore, those games would be important to check in what condition is national side right now prior to Nations League games in September.

Therefore, those games would be great test for Mircea Lucescu to see how the side is ready for serious games which would be starting in autumn and if their is good future for the national team.

Wolverhampton has offered 12 million euro for Fenerbahce player Josef de Souza.

At the transfer front which has been stated by Turkish sports media, one of the main ones from today has been news that Wolverhampton are willing to offer 12 million euro for Fenerbahce player Josef de Souza.

Josef de Souza has been among most important games at the Fenerbahce for the recent past and it would be unlikely that team would be willing to sell him during this summer even through English side does provide good offer for him. It also known that Josef de Souza also wants to stay at the team and even through he might not see as star player of the team he has been adapted to the way team plays and does show great performance at the Super League and it is unlikely Fenerbahce would want to sell him in this summer at least. Wolverhampton however does provide good offer and has shown that their are interested with him and hence this could mean that English side might carry on this negotiations but as been stated it does seem that it needs to work on that and provide strong offers.

Of course, as this blog always states all of the clubs, including Fenerbahce does need lots of cash due of economical condition and good offer from Wolverhampton or other club could mean that Fenebahce would see Josef but it doesnt look that 12 million euro would be enough.
