What happened in Turkish football today? 01/04/2024

Galatasaray will return to title race with game against Hatayspor.

Galatasaray are going to resume their race for title race after national team break which has been followed with Turkish local election as it would be meeting with struggling opponent Volkan Demirel even through only opponent which it lost this season has been Hatayspor.

It also needs to be mentioned that when Galatasaray would be coming out to the game there is chance that Fenerbahce administration could made decision regarding its fate at league for rest of the season or might even make during game and hence it would be important here for players not to think too much about that issue if it wants to be concentrated for the game. Coming to game, Galatasaray are being favourites during game but with Volkan Demirel being coach of the team we might see him to be extra motivated as was case in game in 1st half of season so it would be crucial for Galatasaray to be more aggresive to get win.

Galatasaray as been noted are being favourites but they would need to be extra concentrated and motivated for game.

PFDK referalls made some groups to be unhappy.

PFDK has announced anticipated referalls regarding events from game of Trabzonspor and Fenerbahce as for many this decision has been too lightly and raised protests from Trabzonspor and Adana Demirspor.

In the referalls, it has provided referalls to Trabzonspor, its trainer Ertugrul Dogan and also players Bright Osayi-Samuel, Jayden Oosterwelde and Irfan Can Egribat among two adminsitrators at the team for fighting. According to Trabzonspor and Adana Demirspor this decision means that named players would get pretty light punishments which they deserve but it needs to be mentioned that there is been lots of discussion that players had done on field defensive actions and hence need to get light decisions. There are also talks that this referalls are been done to not raise tension prior to crucial Fenerbahce administrative meeting which would decide fate of the team at the league for rest of the season.

Therefore, PFDK did provide some light decisions but it would be more important to see what would be final decisions from committee.

Fenerbahce can make drastic reaction on 2nd April meeting

With 2 days to go until Super League 31st week between Fenerbahce and Adana Demirspor, it is still not clear if game would be played or not as administrative meeting of Fenerbahce to decide what actions would be made will take on 2nd April.

It is known that most Fenerbahce administrators and whole Fenerbahce players want for league to be completed at the field and hence it is unlikely for decision to be not to come out on the field and hence it would be more focussed into possibly coming with 2nd squad or show some kind of protest on the field but still Fenerbahce does call to make drastic actions from club during meeting.

Fact that tickets are not being released for Adana Demirspor which will take place on 3rd April makes it clear that any decision could come out during meeting.
