Title winners end season with a win.

Title winners Galatasaray has completed 2024-25 season with a win against Basaksehirspor at home ground with 2:0 scoreline as game as would been expected has been played at festive manner.

Among celebrations this game has also had saddened mood as it was last game at the club for Dries Mertens and also living legend of the team Fernando Muslera and hence this game has been focussed into 2 players as supporters and general game has been entirely focussed to this two players. Galatasaray has stayed focussed into winning game and hence end season as champions even through players did spend celebrations but it also needs to be mentioned that for Basaksehirspor also coming for formalities has affected this game.

Basaksehirspor had a mix of the season and hence after such tough season to some extend did affect concentration as it also played against side which been in great mood. Still, Basaksehirspor did get Conference League ticket for next season.

Galatasaray hence ended season at manner which it deserved as it was also good farewell for Dries Mertens and Fernando Muslera.

Trabzonspor ends season with a win

Trabzonspor ends poor season with a win against Antalyaspor with 2:0 scoreline and did win against side which didn’t lose for weeks at home ground but again it needs to be mentioned that it has formality game.

It needs to be stated that Trabzonspor head coach Fatih Tekke did main come out with academy players who did final game only some weeks at Youth League and getting such opportunity did provide some good performance which did also push to some extend to show some good game at the field.

Antalyaspor without doubt did focus to end season with win as it did in previous games but game being formality led for lack of focus and has direct impact for final result.

Trabzonspor hence did end poor season with a win but without doubt it needs to do some revision in summer and also possibly try to raise role of academy players at main team.

Fenerbahce supporters expect to take centre stage at game against Konyaspor

Fenerbahce would be ending 2024-25 season at home game against Konyaspor as it would be formality game for both sides and it would be more curious what reaction would Fenerbahce supporters will give to team and its administrators.

With Fenerbahce ending season at low point despite of being runners-up there is expectation for to be low amount of fans being present especially taking account that kick-off would be at 16:00 but number who would be present are expected to provide hostile environment as was case at last home game. Fenerbahce would be out of mood and focus while Konyaspor did have stressful season as it aimed to stay at the league for time-to-time.

Hence, it is expected to be game with low tempo and chances as low amount of supporters of Fenerbahce expected to be taking centre stage.

Fenerbahce loss to Hatayspor with issues within and outside of field.

Fenerbahce has got to some extend surprising loss against arleady relegated Hatayspor with 4:2 scoreline but taking account that team did lose motivation and being morale affected with ending game at 2nd spot at the league with whatever game would have ended,  result could be understandable.

Without doubt, red card from Mert Gunok and also poor performance from goalkeeper which led for Hatayspor to score 2 goals has also had its impact as Fenerbahce didn’t provide poor performance before that card. Still, Fenerbahce being demoralised is waiting for end of the season and with Hatayspor showing some good performance in recent weeks also this outcome shouldn’t be big surprise.

Fenerbahce as been noted is being demoralised as team and hence such outcome is not being entirely surprising but to some extend is unexpected.

Basaksehirspor would extend contract with Cagdas Atan.

Basaksehirspor has announced that it would sign an extension contract with its head coach Cagdas Atan despite of not having entirely great season but still did manage to get Conference League at the end of the season.

Basaksehirspor did have ups and downs during this season but did fail especially at Conference League where it wasn’t able to get to knockout stages losing to very modest sides and also had some poor performance at league and due of having in some moments some good performance at season did manage to get Conference League spot. Still, its been very important for Basaksehirspor administration to show trust towards Cagdas Atan despite of mixed results and se him as long-term plan.

Basaksehirspor has ended any talks about future of Cagdas Atan as duration of extension expected to be announced at short period of time.

Lucas Torreira has been called to national team after 3-years.

Galatasaray player Lucas Torreira has been called for Uruguyan National Team for first time after 3-years which shows what important and top level performance he showed in Galatasaray this season.

Without doubt, Lucas Torreira with strong performance at midfield did play an important role with league title which team has got during this season and has been rewarded with being selected as his team without dobt has high aims for entering to World Cup 2026. Now  it would be important for Torreira to prove himself to be again at national squad with performance he shows at training sessions and possibly when he gets soe playing time.

Its been important hence for him to be called to side and get rewarded as been noted with great performance at Galatasaray title

Fenerbahce has lacked focus and motivation for game against Hatayspor

Fenerbahce did lose to already relegated side Hatayspor with 4:2 scoreline as mistakes from goalkeeper had a direct impact but also securing its 2nd spot and demoralization had direct impact of this outcome.

Fenerbahce did come out to the game at difficult conditions and with issues which did happen during game including Mert Muldur did have direct impact at the final results while Hatayspor to some extend wasn’t huge surprise despite of opponent to be relegated as their got some positive results in recent weeks as they aim to end season at style. Fenerbahce did lack focus and concentration and also some changes from Mourinho did take place.

Fenerbahce hence are lacking concentration and motivation as it didn’t win title for another reason and certainly there is hardly anyone who would like to play against Konyaspor next week.

Besiktas has lost opportunity for 3rd spot.

Besiktas did lose its opportunity to get to 3rd spot at the league which would lead team to get to Europa League play-off round after losing to Rizespor at home ground and needs some luck for next week.

With Samsunspor drawing at parallel game against Trabzonspor, Besiktas didn’t provide too much strong performance against Rizespor especially towards end of the game but also Besiktas once again didn’t provide enough fighting spirit which has been expected from them. Team would need to go through why it did lose to team which did play for formaltiies while its been important game for them in sense of reducing qualifying journey to Europa League.

Besiktas would be playing against relegated Bodrum next week but it would also awaiting Samsunspor to lose against Kayserispor.

Trabzonspor did show some positivity despite of it being formality game.

Trabzonspor did come out to formality game against Samsunspor which is focussed into ending season at 3rd spot as Trabzonspor did provide much more stronger game but Samsunspor willingness has helped them to get crucial point.

Trabzonspor despite coming out for formalities and lacking motivation did provide some good performance possibly due of playing last game and did turn game around from 0:1 to 2:1 at the end of the game within 2 minutes but also conceded goal themselves in last 2 minutes as that goal has been pretty simple and has been only negative aspect.

Trabzonspor would complete season against Antalyaspor aiming to end season with win after such poor season.

Galatasaray only needs 1 point for league title against Kayserispor

Galatasaray would be seeking to secure its league title with 2 weeks to go until end of the season as it would be playing against Kayserispor at the game where 1 point would be enough to become 2024-25 Super League champions.

One of the main advantages of Galatasaray during this game among playing at home is that Kayserispor would be also happy with 1 point as this point would almost secure it stay at the top league. Also it needs to be mentioned that even through Galatasaray would come out at relaxation and to some extend mentally would be seeing themselves as champions might lead to bit of relaxation however fans would be abe to push team to show strong performance. Even through as been mentioned Kayserispor would be happy with 1 point, Kayserispor is having run of 8 wins with head coach Sergej Jakirovic and possibly team would be having an extra motivation to get some strong and confident performance at the field and hence it would be also interesting to see how Kayserispor would be performing and this could be factor for the final result.

Galatasaray hence would be aiming to end week where it won Turkish Cup to get double at the end of the season and it has strong chance to do so with team being fully motivated.

Fenerbahce might be having some serious motivational issues against Eyupspor as opponent needs win more.

Fenerbahce to win title at this season is left to miracle and also Galatasaray very likely securing title with 2 weeks to go, team would be playing against Eyupspor at very dififcult conditions and it is questionable how team would be responded.

With being 3 points behind Basaksehirpsor, Eyuspor still has chances to get to Conference League and hence Eyupspor would be more focussed and motivated while for Fenerbahce its more being focussed to game and show some professionalism and reminding that it is being strong side. Also it needs to be stated that it would be to be stated that Fenerbahce which are being unhappy for not winning once again title and aso strong criticism towards club CEO Ali Koc would also lead for protests from Fenerbahce even when it would be winning and it could be difficult 90 minutes for Fenerbahce during game.

With Eyupspor having more motivation and reasoning to win game it could be stated that it would be favourite as Fenerbahce would come out with low motivation.

Besiktas will aim for win against Alanyaspor as it aims to end season at 3rd spot.

With Besiktas getting an upper hand at fight for 3rd spot over Samsunspor, it would be coming out to game against Alanyaspor with only aim to win it.

Besiktas did set a new aim which is being to win 3rd spot at to get Europa League play-off round as both sides did secure European football, and hence Besiktas would be highly motivated for the game and provide some strong performance and would be fighting for win as 3rd spot for the team which it did show in the last games. Saying that Alanyaspor does have an aim to stay at the league and hence would be seeking for 1 point but as been noted it is playing against tough side.

Besiktas hence would be clear favourite over Alanyaspor even through team would be seeking for at least 1 point for its aim to stay at the league

Galatasaray has got an important advantage for title.

Galatasaray has made another crucial step for league title as it kept 5 point advantage from Fenerbahce with also head-to-head advantage with 5 weeks to go until end of the season as it got confident win against Eyupspor.

It needs to be mentioned that Galatasaray has got into title mood as among winning recent games it started doing it in confident manner with controlling and dominating games which makes them tough team to beat. It needs to be mentioned that this is beiing character for the team in  past seasons too as it does provide its best performance when it most needed it, that is at the end of the season. With starting game at high tempo and finding early goals has made their task much easier as Eyupspor has ended being pretty ineffective, game which doesn’t identify that at all. Hence, with such attitude and concentration it would be very tough to beat this team at least until it secures title.

Galatasaray has got an important advantage for league title and taking account that it can only 2 games until end of the season and add that how it performs it could be stated that it is being very close for title.

Ukrainians take leading role at Trabzonspor

Trabzonspor is having very good ending of the season with Fatih Tekke, as Ukrainian players has become stars against Alanyaspor which it has won with 4:3 scoreline.

Without doubt, key players at the Trabzonspor has been both Zubkov and Sikan who had both found goals and assists during whole game including to each other and without doubt those 2 player would play an important role for both Trabzonspor ending season well, including at Turkish Cup final.

Ukrainians are taking leading role at the team right now as team mainly focussed to Turkish Cup final but to be good at that game it needs to get momentum at league for sure.

Besiktas interested to sign Patrik Schick

Besiktas carries on its interest towards Bayer Leverkusen player Patrik Schick who is expected to replace Ciro Immobile who would be sold during summer transfer window.

With team decided to sell its player Ciro Immobile, it started looking for replacement as Patrik Shick is being main candidate as there is high chance that player would be considering to leave team during summer transfer window, and more issues for Besiktas could be high amount of offer which Czech star would be recieivng but Besiktas are showing strong interest to get player and early reports state that player might also consider to join them.

It does look like this transfer could be highly discussed in upcoming summer transfer window and our accounts would follow all the latest.

Konyaspor are clear favourites against Iskendurunspor

Turkish Cup quarter-finals would be starting with Konyaspor game against surprising side Iskendurunspor at the game where Konyaspor would be seen as strong favourite against opponent which is 3 leagues ties below them.

To all respect to Iskendurunspor, it was clear that whoever would have been drawn against this side would be coming at advantage side and it would be interesting to see how Konyaspor would be responding. Stating that taking lightly its opponent could be risky and hence it would be expected for side to provide an aggressive game seeking for getting even possibly couple of goals at early minutes which would let them to show possibly relaxing game. Calmness and focus from Konyaspor hence could lead them to get calm win which would be expected from them.

Konyaspor hence are being strong favourites but it would be important from them to stay focussed and prevent for game to become difficult and stressful.

Iskendurunspor has no pressure at all.

Iskendurunspor without doubt has arleady written a history and would be just enjoying to be at Turkish Cup final playing against Konyaspor which has been at top league for years and got some good results at Turkish Cup.

Iskendurunspor would be coming with clear head as there would not be any pressure towards them for success and possibly only push for them to get win would be possibility to play either against Galatasaray or Fenerbahce at semifinal stage at the tournament. Hence, Iskendurunspor would be focussing to show calm game without much pressure and would seek mainly to show organised strong defensive game.

Iskendurunspor has arleady written history at the tournament and now would be aiming to show some good memorable performance against Konyaspor.

Ibrahim Hatipoglu announced his worries for Turkish Cup game against Fenerbahce regarding referee.

Galatasaray administrator Ibrahim Hatipoglu has made statement regarding of referee which has been appointed to derby game at derby game against Fenerbahce at Turkish Cup focussing mainly into his inexperience.

Stating that main issue for team is level of referee rather than his nationality, he adds that Cihan Aydin doesn’t have much experience and is not FIFA branched referee. Hatipoglu also notices that some drastic measures both with foreign referee and security measure were taken during game which has been at their ground but not same measures are pleasant at Fenerbahce stadium which does show that TFF does take some stance at both games in their view and does argue rightfully to some extend that this does show TFF is not treating issue equally. Galatasaray does have some rightfully viewpoint but to some extend keep rising tensions especially at Ramadan holiday would not be great strategy.

It also needs to be reminded that despite of worry during derby game against Besiktas, referee did pretty good job and it would be good for each party interested that Cihan Aydin would have also good office day at derby game.

What happened in Turkish football today? 30/03/2025

Galatasaray has lost its first game of season despite of being in decline in recent weeks.

In all fairness towards Galatasaray, decline of team’s performance has been visible for some time but despite of that it was managing not to lose game but it was still expected for them to lose a game somewhere as it lost at derby game against Besiktas.

Apart of losing a game and also playing with 10 men for most amount of game, it needs to be mentioned that team has provided its worst performance at Super League during this season as it had trouble to get inside the team and also prevent Besiktas creating chances as its own effective players not being to show any strong performance which might bring win to the side as goal did come from incredible shot from Lucas Torreira which has been only positive factor which team has did during whole time. Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk also performance has been in declining matter as he failed to find solutions for this poor performance and in fact didn’t make changes when game has been called for as he waited too long with some extend being stubborn to system which is not working.

With Galatasaray not playing during next week, it is being on risk of point difference to be dropped with 3 points and despite of having head-to-head advantage its recent performance and this game could provide pressure to them in last 8 games.

Besiktas carries on showing dominant game against big 4 opponents.

Besiktas biggest character during this season is performance against other big 4 clubs especially at home ground and it has repeated its characteristic against Galatasaray as dominated game from start to an end.

Even through this matter wasn’t actively discussed prior to game, it was visible that Besiktas possibly losing its not keeping not losing title record solely which it gained in 1991-92 season has provided strong motivation as it stopped that run of opponent. Besiktas has created high number of chances and didn’t let Galatasaray to show an effective game and hence got well-deserved win.

Besiktas now has set an eye to 3rd spot and without doubt at league it would be aiming to achieve that in next 9 games and this could motivate to show top level game until end of the season.

Trabzonspor does have issues with stamina.

Trabzonspor head coach Fatih Tekke debut at home ground hasn’t been successful as he drawn against Goztepe and still fails to show strong and dominant game as its hopes for European spots is getting less and less.

In all fairness, it would need to be admitted that team did show good performance during 1st half with controlling ball and having attacks with scoring goal after 2 minutes of conceding penalty which without doubt shows good reaction of whole team but it showed serious decline of tempo and creativity and 2nd half which hence does show an issue at stamina as Fatih Tekke would likely work on that in upcoming games.

Trabzonspor did show some signs of improvement but with 9 games left at league it would be unreasonable for them to show such top level game.
